My dad has a mass on bladder and kidney not functioning
He is getting surgery tomorrow to remove mass have no idea if cancerous- assuming they will send off - doc said removal may”jump start his kidney which he was unaware is not functioning.. he had prostate cancer and has brach treatment i believe - that cancers gone but i have been reading that having had radiation for it may lead to bladder cancer - anyone experience this?

So- he got back to me! He's leaning towards barnes for the surgery- geeat team of surgeons plus more knowlegeable in field- such as hes not even a candidate for neo bladder because he had radiation for prostate! So he has to go for the other.
His current urologist never even mentioned it wasnt an option for him😵 so thanking God he went for second opinion! Thanks all!
@formydad, you all have a lot going on. I’m a believer. Have been keeping you in my prayers and lifting all this up to the great physician who knows what you need.
@formydad I’m sorry to hear that your dad has to choose between sleeping and nausea! Has he spoken to the doctors about this? Sleep is so important! But so is not feeling sick. 😑. What have the doctors said about this problem?
Not much- i think he is choosing sleep 🙂
Oh thank you! Yes and he knows every in and out of my dads situation!! Praying He draws near to His true Father! Dad is going to go with barnes doctor. I think its a wise decision! So two more days of chemo tomorrow n thurs then - 6 weeks ish- he’ll have his bladder removal surgery- im hoping they explain to the hilt to mom and dad how to take care of the new way of life he’ll have with it.

Feeling ok- just waiting for next step in the process - thanks ill pass this on and check it out myself thanks!
@formydad I hope all has been going well for your dad (and you and your mother). Has you Dad been tolerating the chemotherapy ok? I know the surgery is coming up (or already happened), so how is everyone doing? Anything you want members to help you with. Tell your dad that we’re all giving cyber hugs!
He’s doing ok- now- he had finished with chemo on the 19th- of September about a week ago he wasn't feeling well when he went to see chemo doc for an apt- but he didn't listen to his lungs or x ray him- he woke up one morning with his arm swollen- ? Didn't know why- went to er after sitting there from ten-am to- like 6 pm they diagnosed him with pneumonia he was in the hospital for two days - never did get an answer for swollen arm..then went home with antibiotics and is feeling better just this week he had a test to prepare for the surgery and they also i think showed them options on what appliance he could have ect. My mom was with him- i told them to record on their phone so they could refer back to any info that may have overwhelmed but they forgot 😊but he still has a rattle in his chest so he is not sure as of yet if they will postpone or not. Thanks for thinking of them! I send everything on to them info wise- i’d like to make a book up for them to refer to somehow-but im sure hospital will do something at least id hope they would. So we wait 🙂 thanks again! I will pass on the cyber hugs FOR sure! ❤️
Well surgery moved to nov19 - for dad due to a bout with pneumonia the anesthesiologist was not comfortable wanted to wait... hope that doesnt effect anything
