Copd, pulmonary fibrosis, mac bacterial infection and honeycomb lung
My husband has been diagnosed with all four of these and I just want to understand more about what is to be expected. And what I can do to help.

We haven't seen a dr yet the nurse called with the results but all he gave her was the ones that were normal
Yeah yeah yeah! You've got this!
We have had 2 cigarettes since I posted we quit. ☹
@tmmmrlts- Ok. It looks like, from my own experience that the blood work is aimed at inflammation and arthritis, but I'm not a doctor and this is just a guess. Is he still on the antibiotic? Is he feeling better?
BTW- Having explanations to your tests results is a key to understanding and your right. What I do when I get test results is I look up any word that I don't understand- every single one. I write down their meanings and ask the doctor what they mean or how they fit together for an overall picture .
I can't stress this enough but everyone here should be researching their illnesses, what they mean, what tests show, and their meanings and look up everything you don't understand.
Yes they did check on rheumatoid arthritis because his mother had it. I have been trying to look up all the test. Yes he is still on 2100 3 times a week. no he is feeling worse and is throwing up and running a fever up to 101.
I need help with lung infection
@lindasfowler- Linda I'm glad that you found us and welcome to Mayo Clinic. What kind of lung infection do you have? I know nothing about your history so it's difficult to even ask questions. Can you tell me a bit about your history? Are you under a doctor's care?
@merpreb the dr called us back finally he has scheduled a cat scan which was done Monday the 21st and they scheduled another bronchoscopy for the 28th next Monday. He says that honeycomb lung is not the end stage of pulmonary fibrosis. But everything i have read including the results from the last cat scan says different. They have me all confused
@timmmrlts-i understand your confusion and probably very frustrated. Why did you think that he had end stage pulmonary fibrosis? He can read films and has probably viewed lots of honeycomb lungs. Has any other given a second opinion on this?
@merpreb He was using a lung dr here in town and he said it first. And his lung dr out of town and his infectious disease dr have all said it. And the cat scan results state that.
