Liver pre-transplant question

@jerrydrennan I thought I responded to this before, but I don’t see a response out there. I did have malignant lesions that were removed by ablation.
Why would they pass you over for staging? To me, that doesn’t make sense.

@amyintucson Just reading through posts, trying to catch up. I am way behind.
I wonder if perhaps a doctor of osteopathy would be better at putting all of the symptoms together. I have heard that osteopaths treat the whole person, so that makes me think about that.
I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow. I really don't want to go and I don't even know why I am going. I agreed to the appointment because I'm afraid if I didn't he would drop me, and at this point I don't want to have to find a new PCP, but I think he is pretty useless, but you do need to have a doctor of record in case you need something.

@jerrydrennan Jerry, so you did have some malignancy in your liver I presume. How many lesions did you have? Were they burned off by ablation as mine were?
It wasn't until recently I suddenly realized that the length of time it took the doctors up here to figure out my problem could have been catastrophic to me, because the lesions could have grown more in size or increased in number and eliminated me from being a transplant candidate. That's a scary thought. I am so happy that it did all work out well. I honestly feel like every day is a gift.

@jerrydrennan this waiting is such a nightmare. I really feel for you. I at least knew I was an active candidate, even though every time they did another test I worried about it eliminating me.
I really feel great empathy for the position you are in and hope all gets resolved very soon. The not knowing must be torturous.

I am diagnosed with De Novo prehiliar chalangiocarcinama nonresectable. Bile duct cancer at the liver. From all the CT and MRI all looks good. The laposcopic procedure will confirm whether the cancer has spread.
I try very hard to be patient and understanding. I would rather wait my turn than to be told that you will be staged then it does not happen.
As I have read on the Mayo connect a lot of emotion in most of the post. A lot of support and positive feed back. When they schedule a test or procedure and you want this to find out your next step. Then they canceled it and tell you don’t let this bother you or stress you out.
Yeah right no problem all is good. Thank God for prayer.

@contentandwell I may look into an osteopath (my mother-in-law swore by them). Like you, I see so many specialists I don't feel I need the PCP and don't want the aggravation of searching for a new one right now. Saw my endocrinologist today and she felt a thyroid nodule so now I need to have an ultrasound to check it out. Grrr

Thank you for the explanation that staging is not as common for lung transplants. I was asking simply to be informed. Much appreciated by you and @jerrydrennan. jerrydrennan
