Co-Enzyme Q 10 (100 mg daily) Stops Statin Leg Pain

Hi, I'm taking 20 mg Atorvastatin and my legs were aching. My great Cardiologist told me that statin medications rob the body of the supplement Co Q 10 and taking 100 mg a day would alleviate the problem. I take now Co-enzyme Q 10 100 mg daily and it totally stopped the leg pain. Hope this is helpful to some.

Please do beware that CoQ10 should be used without peperine which is put in some CoQ10 to help absorption. It actually can affect the absorption of you meds. with me it was Verapimil it interferes with the absorption and I then had BP issue and went back into Coroanry Spasms.

I don't believe cholesterol is hereditary, that being said coq10 has been shown to keep your LDL levels in a good range.

Absolutely, it's called familial hypercholesterolemia. Familial hypercholesterolemia is considered a genetic disorder, meaning it is inherited through genes passed down from parents to children; therefore, it is both inherited and genetic.

COQ10 did nothing for my statin related pain.

Have your cardiologist check for the newly discovered cholesterol LP a. This one is genetic. As for statin leg pain, exercise helped me the most.

Yes, I find the same results only I found a capsule of 200 mg which works better for me. I also now take it along with my statins at night which I read works better against the statins.

There are 2 variations of CoQ 10. 1. is called ubiquinone which as our bodies age becomes less bioavailable to people over 40. It doesn't matter how much you take it is just that the body cannot metabolize it like when we were younger. Younger adults and children absorb ubiquinone and metabolize into ubiquinol which is then metabolized 2. is called Ubiquinol. This ie fermented CoQ10 developed in Japan. years ago. Studied in Japan proved it was useful in heart disease. What is the difference with ubiquinol is that it is by far more bioavailable. Ubiquinol is more expensive due the it having to be fermented but it is by far a superior version of CoQ10. There are no upper limits to ubiquinol. So it can be taken in lager doses. I take 600 mg of ubiquinol at day.

I take super ubiquinol by Life Extentions - 100mg per day. It is Kaneka brand with Shilajit fulvic acid complex.
