Thyroid? Or something else? Constant internal shakiness
Going on 2months now everyday non stop. Sometimes mild and im able to ignore it but over the hours of day it becomes more severe and causing my heart rate to go up and my blood pressure to go very high (170/99) its episodic. Ive been to hospital for it 3 times for it and received no treatment as my vitals slowly return to normal. Xanex helps me feel calm but does not help the shakiness just helps me not get upset about it. Am only 28 years old and hypothyroid. I have never had symptoms like this in my entire life just started out of nowhere. Iam in good sTate of mind and aware of what's happening when the episodes happen. So far my doctors are clueless.

@jbug I also welcome you to MayoClinicConnect. Living with your situation for a year with no answers must be so worrying! And having the anxiety extend into your work day...... Have you been able to talk with a therapist or counselor to find ways to deal with the anxiety? Are your coworkers able to detect the anxiety? Maybe you’re able to hide it real well and that just adds to the worry. My doctor just suggested that I go back to my therapist because I haven’t been able to come to terms with all that has happened in the past 2years. Everyone thinks I’m fine, but I’m not and it really weighs on me and worries me. Guess I should follow my own advice and call! A therapist may help you, too. Will you think about it? And follow @johnbishop ‘s advice, also!
I have all of these symptoms. Please get tested for bartonella. It is so hard to diagnose. It many times needs to be cultured in a lab to be found. Galaxy labs has a culture test that Is one of the only accurate resources. Good luck.
Hello @lifewarriorwellness, welcome to Connect. Thank you for sharing your experience. I found the site you referenced and thought I would post the link for you since new members are not able to post links for a short period of time after joining. Also found a few other sites with information on Bartonella.

You mentioning having all of these symptoms. Were you diagnosed with bartonella? How are you doing now?
Since November I've been to the ER 3 times for acute anxiety. Blood Pressure was out of bounds. I have the shakiness inside too and the anxiety drugs they gave me at the hospital doesn't work. I also have hypothyroid but don't know if that is the problem. Thyroid tests come back in range, but the doctor keep me in the low range and I don't know why. I'm have a lot of problems and the shakiness is just one of them.
Hi @dablues, I know it can be frustrating when the doctors are not able to figure out what's going on with your body. You mentioned the doctor keeping you in the low range but you don't know why. I'm wondering if your doctor may have an idea of what's going on but has not communicated it to you. Are you able to discuss your questions with your doctor?
I did find an interesting article on the thyroid that may provide some helpful information. Harvard Medical School -- Could it be my thyroid?: https://www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/could-it-be-my-thyroid
Thanks for the reply. She tried to explain and felt that it was in my best interest where it was at. My previous doctor also kept me in the low range, or maybe I should say they would say it was normal and I would ask what range it was in, and it was always low. I'm perplexed
I too started having internal tremors about 2 months ago. I’m visually impaired so please excuse typos. But the really good news is mine have stopped!!!!! Ohmygosh these were scary. They were so strong I almost couldn’t sleep. I don’t know much but my doctor thought it was from nerve damage since I am a T1D (juvenile diabetic) . But I don’t think so. I had serious high blood pressure issues all year. TIA’s and just at the end of Nov 2019 I found out my brain checked out but my heart has a super high calcium score of 1,333. Should be less than 400. My brother is not diabetic and his score is considered very high too at 500. Lol mine is worrisome. But I found out then I had 3 heart blockages. Now I did recently start a very low dose anxiety med because my doc thought it could help my high be. And I do have a low thyroid all my life. But thyroid has checked out too. The very first time I felt the internal vibrations I had overdone cleaning my closet upstairs and oh I guess I’ve had the vibrations 4 months cause the first one was late September when I was cleaning my closet and I felt like I had a serious heat exhaustion. I laid down and woke with the internal vibration and also a visual disturbance in my best eye. I’m blind in one eye. But anyway. Race forward almost 4 months and I had 2 stints put in my heart 2 weeks ago. And last week these vibrations started getting less strength in the vibration. I could at least tolerate them. But now they are gone!!!! I’m sooooooo thankful I can not explain how much cause I’ve just not understood what was happening tome!!! I just looked this up again and found your forum and had to tell each of you there is hope. And I also wanted to say what my circumstances are. I’ve had blood pressure meds changed and it could have o do with that too. All the things I mentioned. Diabetes and low thyroid are both autoimmune diseases so I have both of them. Anyway ask me any questions. Sending you prayers for yours to go away🙏❤️
My reply is below. But I wanted to tell you my boss was as high as 243/110. And I’ve ran in the 180/101 range for many months of this year with all my doctors aware. My cardiologist and neurologist. All of them. My internal vibrations have just stopped. Finally they were really really making me worry. I am on the low side of the normal range for my tsa too. I’ve been on anxiety meds this year because doc thought it could help my bp. My bp has been super high all year long. So I understand your frustration.
Hello, @hopeful58. I’m really puzzled about your high blood pressure and your doctors being aware. Have you had any 2nd opinions?
@hope58 Gee, I just realized that I forgot to welcome you to MayoClinicConnect! We’re an online community that shares health related experiences to help and guide each other.
