Anyone taking Mirtazapine? Is it working for you? Any side effects?
Has anyone been taking Mirtazapine? Like to know if they have taken themselves off and how did you do it?

@scain took me exactly 6 weeks, just like the doctor said. Have been taking for many years.
It took me at least 3 weeks to take effect.
I took it many years, and it made me sleepy. My appetite became stronger. I could wake up in the middle of the Night and eat some sweet. At last I took one spoon extremely sweet jam to stop eating sweet.
@mugsie1975 how has your taper been going? What mg where you on and what pace are they using? I am going to be starting lorazapam taper and trying to hear from others that are going through it.
I was doing Klonopin taper after 3 years when it stopped working my psychiatrist did a rapid cut of 40% from .625to .375 did it 36 days before panic attacks came almost went to er but got in touch with my psychiatrist went back to .625 only been 8 days it’s better but as i said klonopin no longer works for me so im taking it for consistency til i can get off it looks like it will be a few months going slower she started me on buspar low dose to help anxiety but to early to tell slow is what I hear helps but everyone different good luck
@jneener i started taper at .75 daily for 5 weeks then to .625 3 weeks but my psychiatrist put me down to fast to .375 was on it for 36 horrible days finally back up to .625 20 days now and good and bad days but determined to get off this horrible medication on mirtazaphine 30 mg sleep great so that’s something wish u well
@mugsie1975 taper slow, 5 to 10% every 2 to 4 weeks. Also be careful with mirtazapine. It is an antidepressant and you will need to taper from it when done with your benzo.
What benzo are you tapering?
@dlydailyhope have been on it for many years. Helps me.
@maryking3977 I also force myself to eat. Have lost 40 lbs. Trying to come off which is brutal. Reducing 15 mg to 7.5. Possibly the taper is too quick.
@maryking3977 I am trying to come off 15 mg. My doc has me reducing from 15 to 7.5. From what I have read this is too fast a taper. The side effects like muscle pain and headache have become intense.
