Anyone Ever Try Mullein?
Diagnosed with MAX several years ago. Went thru years of albuterol and then saline was added. Cleared a mess of those little critters from the lower part of the lung but still had the cough. Started taking a dropper of Mullein extract each morning. Nearly a year later no cough, no feeling of mucus in my throat and don't have any mucus coming up w/nebulizer. Sleep thru the night w/o any coughing and none during the day. Am going to ask my doctor to do a CT and see how this is happening. Anyone else out there ever do the Mullein? No side effects of any kind. Feels like I never had MAC - maybe it is gone??? I will be 90 in November - still do all of my own housework. laundry, etc. House is 3/2 2300 sq.ft.

@plearley I’ve been using mullein supplements twice daily for about six months. I’ve noticed subtle changes in breathing, less mucus, and feeling that my lungs are clear when I breathe. I’m sure each of us is different when we use supplements but I have had positive results.
@tumanic thank you for your reply. I've been using 2800 mg drops for 13 days now and am hoping to gain benefits from this. I was also prescribed Tezpire and have had four injections. I'm noticing improvements in mucus production and removal so perhaps the two combined are working to the positive. Again, thank you
@sueinmn Thank you for this link!

1 ReactionMullein brewed from leaves l purchased from Iherb works great for me. I usually use it as a tea often in the evenings. I do take 600 mg generic Mucinex twice a day.

4 Reactions@macm99 I absolutely cannot cough up the mucus without the mucinex and I'm drinking the tea, but don't really like it. Going to try the drops.
@crystalena
Sitting (and lying, and leaning over, etc) while nebulizing, trying to clear all the spots, still learning how to do this, I just came on here and found this lovely reply you made on August 11! Thank you so much for your friendly comments, it took me right out of a pretty bad mood! and now I feel like I know you too. Sorry for taking so long to reply. Life is so full of good and bad I get swamped.
I do like the mullein drops and now I'm finally going to get some teabags. So thanks for that too.
My sweet black dog is Licorice.
Greetings to Dollie. Hope to keep in touch.

Thank you! Just saw this. I'm slow.
Before I was even diagnosed, I had a bad cough, and a friend said, Mullein! Drink mullein tea!" I'm generally skeptical of that sort of admonition, but this rang true. I've been drinking it ever since. I've gotten into making a blend of lung and reflux teas, as follows:
2 Oz mullein
1 Oz each Plantain, Licorice, Chamomile, slippery elm and Fennel seeds. It tastes pleasant. A long steep brings out the Licorice and fennel.
Does it help? Since I've been drinking all along, I can't make any claims. But I breathe easily (I do neb twice a day), have very little sputum. It's not hurting.

1 ReactionYes, I have been using Mullein since diagnosis 9 mo ago. Not as regularly as you but using both tincture and actually dried leaves in a tea. Native Americans used it during Covid to help with breathing problems associated. Hardly any mucous and sleeping well. No side effects!!!
