Anyone Ever Try Mullein?
Diagnosed with MAX several years ago. Went thru years of albuterol and then saline was added. Cleared a mess of those little critters from the lower part of the lung but still had the cough. Started taking a dropper of Mullein extract each morning. Nearly a year later no cough, no feeling of mucus in my throat and don't have any mucus coming up w/nebulizer. Sleep thru the night w/o any coughing and none during the day. Am going to ask my doctor to do a CT and see how this is happening. Anyone else out there ever do the Mullein? No side effects of any kind. Feels like I never had MAC - maybe it is gone??? I will be 90 in November - still do all of my own housework. laundry, etc. House is 3/2 2300 sq.ft.

Thanks for sharing. I’m planning on trying Mullien drops and tea. I have bronchiectasis but I’m worried about getting MAC Right now I take NAC twice a day.
Hello all,
Is there a specific brand of Mullein that is safe and effective? I know some of these online items are sketchy, but I want to try it. Does it interact at all with our Big 3, amikaycin, and so on?

I was taking the mullein drops but it didn’t do much to loosen up the mucus, I hardly ever cough so maybe it was helping. I’ve started ordering loose tea from the Full Leaf Tea Co. is certified organic, I also ordered their Lung Health tea which is also very good. They seems to be working much better than the drops because I get a lot of the bad stuff out each time I do my airway clearance.

2 Reactions@loveu Just ordered and they have a 20% discount if you subscribe. Thank you.
For those in Canada there’s a Mullein syrup made here by St Francis herb farm certified by Health Canada .(NPN NUMBER 80032417). Amazon has it at about $ 21 . And good health stores keep it as well.
Good luck to everyone in the group

1 Reaction@tropauer Great! I hope you like it and works for you.
You are an inspiration and I wish you a very Happy (almost) 90th Birthday! 🎈 I was diagnosed with brochiecstasis in 2023 and MAC just this past May, 2026. I had what was a textbook case of covid in late 2019 when no one knew what it was. I was desperate to stop the coughing and found Mullein herb and Lobelia herb at Amazon to prepare as a tea. This has become my go to ever since to ease the congestion. I have not tried the mullein drops. When I went for my annual ct scan in April, I was referred for a bronchoscopy due to a new spiculated lung nodule and they wanted to determine if it was malignant. Good news, it was not cancer. Not so good, it is MAC and I'm now beginning airway clearance using a nebulizer with a 3% sodium chloride hypertonic solution. I have chosen not to do the antibiotic regiment for now. I am focusing on increasing my body mass index and building up my microbiome to improve my immune function while I do the wait and see on the antibiotics. I will continue to use the mullein and lobelia tea everyday as well. Hope the drops and/or the tea works for you as well. Once again, Happy BD and many more!

1 ReactionI've been reading about the Mullein supplement and was wondering if anyone had success using this.
@plearley I personally have not tried mullein (too many plant allergies to risk it) but a lot of people in the group have done so with varying results.
