Am I losing it too?
Two weeks ago, I had my annual wellness visit and I scored 100% on the memory test, including counting back by 7's. Last week, my husband's brain PET Scan results came into MyChart. He has Alzheimer's. Since then, we have looked at senior living communities in person and rented an apartment near our children. I feel as if I can't remember anything and I think I misplaced my son's house key. I don't want to think I am losing it, yet that's how it feels. Very worried. Has anyone experienced this and did it resolve for you? Thank you!

Happy Birthday, Judi! You are loved❣️You have had it so difficult. I have been amazed with all the kind words you say to others.
My birthday is Sept. 14 and I will be with my siblings in Chicago for a respite from my husband. He finished Prostate cancer last week and has Alzheimer’s. Hopefully my daughters will check on him but for my sanity I need this week away. He is still at the beginnings of cognitive decline and just does irritating behavior with me. I have stopped watching Teepa Snow on UTube because I can’t yet say sweet answers to him for all his criticisms to me. Sorry I am complaining.😬

2 Reactions@wtr2026 Do not worry! Forgetting where your keys are is perfectly normal! We all have such stress in dealing and worrying about our loved ones. Sometimes I even think my husband is sharper than me mentally, but I have anxiety that makes me even draw blanks at times. Breathe and count on us at Mayo Connect to help you!💖

Thanks for the birthday wishes. You are allowed to complain!
Enjoy your well-deserved time off. 🌼
@wtr2026 you are welcome, wtr2026. Seems like I am almost constantly, needing some advice, myself. Or, maybe some encouragement !
@wtr2026 Thank you! I've heard of the Guide Program (I think) but haven't checked it out. Are you or a LO by any chance participating?
We do have a caregiver, but her schedule ends at 4, when he goes upstairs to take a long nap. Maybe I need to rethink that!
@carolreid Thanks, Carol. I will try something along those lines. He loves his computer-generated calendar, which he's used for years, but it's software that no one maintains any more and it doesn't accommodate such granular detail as he seems to want. I will work on a paper solution!!!
