Has anyone here had a TAVR procedure for aortic stenosis?
Hi, I’m 83 years old and have been diagnosed with moderate aortic stenosis. One of the findings in a recent echocardiogram was that I may have a bicuspid aortic valve. I definitely don’t want to go through open heart surgery when my condition becomes severe. Has anyone here had TAVR having a bicuspid valve? Do you have any suggestions for interventional cardiologists or medical centers where they have performed many TAVR procedures? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Implanted Medtronic model #EVOLUTR-26-US in June 2022. I'm still here, so it is working. Went through the leg, amazing,
@jsb932l Thanks for your reply, jsb9321. I appreciate the information!
I had Medtronic KO51123 Evolut FX + Transcatheter Aortic Valve implanted on 5-28-25 at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, WA.
I have also had the Watchman implanted at the same hospital at a different time All well so far. Thank you God!

2 ReactionsHappy to hear that all went well for you! Just wondering, could you share the name of your interventional cardiologist who did the TAVR procedure?

1 Reaction@fanci Hi, thanks so much for your information.
I had TAVR 5 years ago. The recovery is pretty quick, as opposed to open heart which I wasn’t a candidate for. My surgeon started the program at St. Luke’s in Kansas City. A year later I had to get a pacemaker, which I was told isn’t uncommon following TAVR.
Hi, thanks for your post. Could you share the name of your surgeon? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Stern Cardiovascular Center has done many aortic valve replacements. Mine was very successful. I wanted to go home when I got back to my room but I had to spend them night for observation.
Hi, very glad to hear that your TAVR procedure was very successful!! Where is the Stern Cardiovascular Center? Could you share the name of the international cardiologist who performed your TAVR? Any information would be greatly appreciated!
