Do you have AFib controlled w/drugs & taken a GLP1?

I am wondering if any AFib patients like me, who are controlling their AFib with drugs have also taken a GLP1 drug to lose weight? I read a study done in 2025 that showed that GLP1 lowered the amount of AFib events by about 13-18% in obese AFib patients. hrsonline org /news /glp1 -study-reduces-afib-events

I talked to my doctor about doing it, but she thought it might not be a good idea and I didn't talk to my cardio yet. In the study a few adverse reactions did happen but overall, the majority had good outcomes or no difference. They didn't do it to judge weight loss but just took low doses for the AFib question. I am going to talk to my cardiologist though asap because I want to use it for weight loss and the other could be a plus. If anyone has done this, please let me know how it went.
Thanks

Definitely talk to your doctor. I have a fib, for 4 years. Ive been on Wegovy for a year and it is great! Ive lost 30 pounds. My primary physician prescribed it because it is harder on the heart when you carry excess weight. Good luck!
