Has anyone who lost taste and smell from Covid recovered it after 5 years? If so, how? Thank you. God Blesd

Yes, I lost my taste and smell in 2021. Acupuncture helped me. Was a long process but have both back 100%. Took almost a year to notice any difference. I believe it was up to 3 years gain it back totally.
However for the last several months I have suffered from tinnitus. I must have had COVID but didn't realize for several days till I lost taste again. Lost and came back for 4 days. But luckily I have back. Went thru my routine I did before. Smell essential oils, pure horseradish, garlic and strong spices.
Hope this helps.

@lkirnbauer Have you tried smelling numerous essential oils daily? Star will a couple at a time. I burned a candle that I could barely smell. Went to Yankee Candle so many times. Also sniffed strong spices like allspice, cloves and garlic? I would even try to taste them. Plain horseradish and jarred garlic. Anything strong. As I stated, acupuncture really helped but too a long time and it can be expensive. I'm sorry it is taking so long. doctors are baffled by COVID and it's side effects. It is very frustrating. Chocolate cake was one of the first things I could taste. Oh darn! Hope this helps. Contact me agin if you wish.

I tried the oils awhile ago but I guess not consistently. I am doing it again now trying to do at least twice a day. The Lord is the greatest Healer and I know with God all things are possible. Thank you for the information!

I lost taste- but not smell. So weird, I can taste certain things, like fruits and veggies, strong spices, no proteins.

@po777 Only smell a couple essential oils at a time. Do more than a couple times a day. Sniff constantly. doing too many oils at a time might be confusing. Peppermint is a good one to start with. Also Eucalyptus oil is a good one. That one is good for clearing the sinus's when you have any congestion. Strong oils at first helps. I would do it all day long as much as possible. Long slow breathing in and out also. I found oils at Amazon. Also Kroger if you have one. I try to get the best price for the oil because they can be expensive. Even pure horseradish(not with mayonnaise) It is really strong. That I would also taste. That was my go to.
Hope this helps.
