How long did you have side effects from Tagrisso?

After two and a half years I continue with side effects of acne. I know my side effects are minor compared to others but Tagrisso is still better than chemo and I don’t have to travel to get it.

Amen to 158839446. Tegrisso is an amazing medication. I, too, switched to dairy free products. Monitor connections between what you eat and effects.

@tedvoelker I had a few especially bad bouts on my face and pausing Tagrisso for a week and taking a course of doxycycline monohydrate (an oral antibiotic) helped during those times. it seemed to really escalate after being on Tagrisso for 2 years.

Hi @sierranevadagal395, Long time no comments. I've been on Tagrisso 80mg for 5 and a half years. About 5 months ago I moved up to 160mg per day, which meant I got to experience the diarrhea all over again. Fortunately that only lasts about four months for me with an occasional day of diarrhea here and there in the 5th month. I've been taking 20mg Biotin daily for the brittle nails for several years now. This skin rash is new, but has pretty much settled down by now. My annual dermatological full body scan was coming up when the rash started. He recognized it and prescribed a steroidal cream called Triamcinolone which has worked great, especially when combined with hydrocortisone cream which he recommended.

That's about it for symptoms that I can pin on Tagrisso. My other symptoms I believe are due to the fact that I had open brain surgery in January and I'm 66 years old now! I hope you are doing well.

@flusshund ... what a warrior you are! Thank you for the update on your treatments and Tagrisso side effects. I am grateful for this medication and its ability to neutralize those positive receptors that allowed cancer cells to grow... and I'm working to gently abide with the medication side effects. It's been 18 months now - I'm on 40mg a day - and only need an Imodium about every 5-7 days. I have a small glass of Kefir each morning and take Biotin gummies for hair, nails and skin. It's quite the journey we are all on, eh?

I have been on Tagrisso 80 mg for 8 months. I, too, had the diarrhea, skin rash and also leg swelling. It has been manageable, fortunately with the medications for treating those side effects. I was on 9 rounds of Cisplatin with Alimpta, then 3 of just Alimpta. I have one more round to go. Then, I will only be on the daily Tagrisso. I have NSCLC EGFR positive Stage 1V. The tumors have shrunk and we are taking some time in September to take a few little vacations. The oncologist said it was fine. I have had a decent amount of energy the last week or 2 since a few days after the last Alimpta infusion, so that was nice. I also take Biotin, about 3,000 mg daily. I did NOT lose my hair completely for which I am grateful, but I did lose some. Good luck to everyone who is battling this awful disease themselves or with a loved one.
