Weight Gain with Evenity
Some have said they gained some weight when taking Evenity. Any idea at about what shots you noticed this? I am now going to be taking shots #9 and I do notice about a 4 to 5 lb. gain. Anyone else notice a gain in weight and if so, when was it noticeable?

@osteopatient2026 yes. One year of injections. Just finished last month.
@callmekate
Could you post your results when you get them from baseline to current..thank you
@lovemybones
I too have been athletic my entire life and eaten well, and was diagnosed with
severe spinal osteoporosis at only 60 years old!
I took tymlos for 12 month and progressed from severe to borderline osteopenia/osteoporosis.
Please don't assume you will have side effects from these medications. I have experienced no side-effects while on Tymlos. Most people do not experience the severe side effects that are described by others on this forum.

I've only done the Evenity and now the endo has suggested Prolia. I'll need to do some research into all of these. Does one have less side effects than another?

1 Reaction@osteopatient2026 . Yes, just finished my year.
@callmekate
So what’s your plan now? And how do you feel? What were your beginning tscores and what are they now?
@callmekate
This sounds like you are going at this fairly aggressively…
Keep us posted
My first spine T score, in 2014, was -3.8. I avoided drugs, started taking D3 and K2 and in 2024 by spine T-score was down to -4.8. Now after a year on Evenity, it's up to -4.3, which is still terrible.
I see my endo in September and will do my research into options between now and then. He says Prolia, no surprise, but doesn't that one have worse rebounding than Reclast? At 67, should I care about starting a drug I can never stop? Sigh.

Evenity is suppose to be one of the better aggressive treatment options but it just might not be working for you. Tymlos is suppose to be very good (I’m on it 10 months) not as convenient as once a month though. Prolia is more of a “maintenance drug” once you establish gains. My doctor also recommended that as a “first line” drug…no…very wrong..unless there are circumstances preventing you from taking it. Prolia is the one with the most serious rebound. According to some there is a way to get off it but it isn’t easy. For example if you can’t take one of the bisphosanate drugs …

1 ReactionThank you for connecting! Side effects for me are headache, stiff and swollen knees and fingers and less energy. Your post has alerted me to get my Synthroid dose checked. Reported Dexa readings are encouraging! Has anyone found a brand of calcium plus magnesium and D3 in a large enough dose of what we need to feed the Evenity so that I don't have to be a daily pill counter? Can't take calcium on Thyroid medication and by afternoon I can forget some of the doses.
