Is it true that failed kidneys is where PD starts?

Has anyone seen this?Is it true or bs?That failed kidneys is where PD starts.

@larry68 I've never heard of this. You might check with your neurologist about this theory.

@larry68 Never heard this. I have CKD stage 3b for over 10 years and have PD. Neither my Neurologist nor my Nephrologist ever connected the 2.

@hopeful33250 i joined it but its in OKC and i am in Lake Texoma area trying to find a neurolist/movement disorder specialist close to me.So far,no luck.

@larry68 These specialists hard to find and taking me 4 months for appointment. Good luck to you. Really hope you find someone.

The answer is no. Parkinson's disease itself does not cause the kidneys to fail or likewise. People with Parkinson's can have kidney-related problems for other reasons. One of the biggest risk factors for kidney failure or kidney disease is having diabetes. Good blood sugar and blood pressure control are important for protecting kidney function. Research studies are currently being conducted to determine if there is a genetic predisposition to PD. I firmly believe there is.
