The answer is no. Parkinson's disease itself does not cause the kidneys to fail or likewise. People with Parkinson's can have kidney-related problems for other reasons. One of the biggest risk factors for kidney failure or kidney disease is having diabetes. Good blood sugar and blood pressure control are important for protecting kidney function. Research studies are currently being conducted to determine if there is a genetic predisposition to PD. I firmly believe there is.

@eojeda1 I thought They had determined that everyone has the genetic markers but not everyone flips enough switches to develop PD.
