@harrie123 Sounds like you found a great PT. Unfortunately, my experience has been less than great. I went about a year and a half ago. The PT had me do some standard exercises, then gave me a printed sheet of exercises. I noticed that another patient had the exact same sheet although she had a different problem. How do you find a PT who will study your medical history and set up a customized program of exercises/ Somebody tell me, please!
@heisenberg34 Have your doc recommend one for you. I know there is a big difference between PT. I will be seeing a therapist this week. Concerned because she/he is new to me. This practice is the one my physician recommended. I do hope you find THE one who will meet your needs.

1 ReactionHi. I'm "old dude" who was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy almost a year ago.
The only "relief" I geet is through walking and the use of 5% lidocaine three times a day....twice closer to bed time. Night time is the worst time of day because it disturbs my sleep at night.
Thanks for this group and I'll be interested to read the way others deal with pn, as I call it.

1 ReactionHello Old Dude @germone12345, Welcome to Connect from another old dude! I'm one of the so called fortunate ones with neuropathy in that I only have numbness along with some tingling with my neuropathy. Neuropathy doesn't disturb my sleep as much as my degenerative arthritis that wakes me up with shoulder pain (side sleeper) so I can roll over and use the other side for awhile. You might want to scan through the following related discussions to learn what others have shared helps them.

Did they determine a cause for your neuropathy or is it idiopathic like mine is?

1 Reaction@germone12345 Not sure if this is appropriate for you. If your state either: allows cannabis as recreation, or, you're able to get a medical MJ card with your doctor's approval. My state has approved recreational use, so I ordered CBD/THC gummies. One type with 5 mg THC taken about an hour before bedtime lets me sleep almost through the night. it's wonderful.

1 ReactionHi I’m Kat and I suffer with nerve damage my right shoulder arm hand and leg after been assaulted at work I’m
Left in constant pain and no friends
Hi Kat @kat044, Welcome to Connect. I can't imagine how difficult it is for you do go through something like you did, especially at your job working place. Have your doctors suggested or started any treatments to help with the pain? Do you have any family or relatives close by?
Hi, @kat044
Welcome to Connect! I'm so, so sorry to hear about what happened to you. I'm fortunate in that pain is not one of my neuropathy symptoms, but what has hit me like a sledgehammer is your saying you have no friends. Is that just current circumstances, or has this been a situation that has gone on for a long, long time? It may be only a band-aid, but consider Connect as a place to visit, read, learn, post questions, and, in a virtual way, get to know a few people. As I say, it may be only a band-aid, but at least it's something.
Here's wishing you relief––from all of your troubles!
