Replacement of aerobika
Hello Everyone!
How do you keep track of expiration dates of each Aerobika part? I wash and sterilize all the parts together and some parts are older than others and it’s hard to know when each expire!
Any thoughts on this are appreciated!
Thank you!

@notnancy88 @sueinmn For clarification.
Do the doctors write you a prescription to take to a specialty pharmacy for the needed Aerobika
or
do they have them on hand and then bill your insurance company for the Aerobika directly or indirectly?
It would be good to know, if possible, just in case one wants to mention the process for getting the Aerobika in the same way.
With my seeing the speech therapist she has the Breather to give out to patients during the office visit. The Breather is somewhat similar to the Aerobika.

@scoop Interesting. I also have the Breather and the Speech Therapist who distributed it to me wondered if just using the mouth piece would be good enough.
She depleted her 'stash' and said she had more on order and would give me another when they come in.
I tried boiling to clean it like the Aerobika but the thin prongs that are on the ends of the mouth piece section melted and would not fit back into the main piece.

You have to have a prescription. I believe Walmart Supercenter pharmacies may carry them in case your pulmonologist doesn’t have a supply of them.
@blm1007blm1007 No prescription required to buy online, but if I get it from my pulmo, I only pay a 20% copay instead of full price.
@sueinmn After getting your response I found an article that does confirm it can qualify under Part B as long as all necessary documentation is prepared by the doctor and prepared correctly Then the reality is ....if the doctor/clinic wants to deal with all that it takes to help a patient receive it this way.
I am going to address it with my pulmonologist and also contact the DME pharmacy locally.
Thanks again.

I have 2 Aerobikas in rotation at a time. I just decided the easiest thing to do is replace them every Jan 1.

After six months, I get a new pair of Aerobikas and place each of the old sets in a zip lock bag and label the dates used. They are extras and come in handy to use when not home because I can rinse them and then wait to sterilize when I return. I leave the newest ones at home. I do the same for my Pari LC cups.
@becleartoday can you buy the cups separately? Thank you.
Do you need a prescription to replace aerobika?
@suzieq11 technically it is a prescription item however it depends where you buy it from. I recently ordered mine from Tampa specialty pharmacy which is recommended by the manufacturer. I did need an Rx. My insurance does not cover the Aerobika or the aeroclipse cups so I buy them out of pocket.
