I have had vaginal Lichen Sclerosus for many years with several flareups. I am interested in learning of any successful treatments or recommendations.

We have great success with Lisepten. It's all natural and doesn't have the side effects of clob like thinning the skin. Thanks, but the skin being thin is part of the issue. You can get it direct from the company. Sign up for their newsletter for an instant coupon. Let me know if it works as well for you.

Hi all LS sufferers. I've had surgery for labial adhesions--3 months ago. I'm still having sharp, strong pain when I pee. The surgeon's NP says to use coconut oil or olive oil. They also say I will have to use estrogen cream nightly for the rest of my life. I don't have a problem doing that but it does nothing for my LS. I began using clobetasol about 5 days ago and initially it seemed to help. Now, not so much. I've read that some have began using a bidet to help their LS. How many have found that helpful? I have a pari bottle with an extendable ?neck that is very easy to use but just checking if any others have tried this and what has been the results. Thanks all.

@fdixon63 Hello. I’ve suffered with LS for over ten years. As you know, it has been a challenge to manage this condition due to the lack of information, and limited “treatment” options. Granted, I’ve not had surgery like you have, but I’ve tried all types of things to get relief, from diets to supplements to other topicals. Nothing worked. I even stopped going to my GYN because she had nothing besides Clob to offer me. I finally found a dermatologist who understands this condition, and has given me reasonable options through trial and error. She has been a Godsend, to say the least! I’m still on Clob for flareups, but even the amount of the steroid put on the area can affect the angry skin, and even make it worse (I did not know this). She recommended a lentil-sized amount for me. In addition, she recommended no soap, just water for cleansing. Her words, “the vagina is self-cleaning.” A hand-held shower head has been helpful for this. Since I’m postmenopausal, she recommended Vaseline for moisture. I agree with the topical Estrogen - it has not worked for me either. However, the amount of Clob used, washing with only water and no soap, and use of Vaseline have provided me relief for my LS. Take care!

@becsbuddy Hi Becky. Is there any way to find out what doctors do offer laser therapy for VLS? I'm about 3 1/2 hrs from Pensacola and thinking about the clinic there as I'm not pleased with how things are going with my uro/gyno who wants to "cut". I had that done in January a year ago by a different uro/gyno and it's right back in the same condition. It's just too painful to keep doing it over and over again. Thanks.

@fdixon63
I have had Tulip Procedure at Coyle Institute in Pensacola three times, with what I consider to be great results. For me it gives relief from itching and flares for about a year, then it’s back to Dr Coyle for another treatment. Totally worth it for the months of relief it gives. Sadly, my body just never gives up on the LS gluing things together and the misery returns. (I tried another urogynocologist in Phx but he ended up being a charlatan imo, didn't remove any scarring, gave zero relief.)
I encourage you to try Coyle Institute since you live that close.
Wishing you the best.

@2thfairy Thanks for your post. I've stopped using Clobetasol. I feel it has been contributing, in part, to the pain. Very possibly I've developed a sensitivity to it over the years. I now take anAnucort suppository, cut it in half and heat it in the microwave for 21 second-- in small clean dish. I put on a light pad so I don't get anything on my clothes. I then hold it in the vaginal area for a minute or so, then pull the panties snug up and sit somewhere for a bit and the suppository can further melt and settle in the area. All this was discovered accidentally and in a time of desperation. I do this once or twice a day. I will be asking my dermatologist or uro/gyno doc if there is a cream with similar ingredients that I can buy as the co-pay for Anucort has jumped to almost $400 from $30. I now have NO PAIN and can pee without pounding the wall with my fist--hurting. Will this work for others?? Do I recommend it for others?? We all have to make our own decisions. Best of luck to all.
