I have had vaginal Lichen Sclerosus for many years with several flareups. I am interested in learning of any successful treatments or recommendations.

When I first was diagnosed, my ob had me take it odine drops and cleared it up. I stopped taking iodine but it's not returned. My situation may be unique but iodine couldn't hurt to try.

@judyteresa - I can find odine in a search. Should it be iodine?? Did you take drops orally or apply to the area?? Also, how long did you take the drops and how long ago did you stop without a return of your VLS? So happy you had a good results. Most are still searching for the right formula, that's why I have so many questions.

@edtaraujo Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I see that you’ve been around since March but this is your first comment. So, welcome!
Have you asked your doctor about laser therapy or is there another treatment they recommend??

@becsbuddy Hi Becky. Is there any way to find out what doctors do offer laser therapy for VLS? I'm about 3 1/2 hrs from Pensacola and thinking about the clinic there as I'm not pleased with how things are going with my uro/gyno who wants to "cut". I had that done in January a year ago by a different uro/gyno and it's right back in the same condition. It's just too painful to keep doing it over and over again. Thanks.

@fdixon63 I don’t think there is a list of the doctors who do RLT. If you had a list, how would you know who’s competent and who is not? And competency is also based on the number of times the doctor has performed the procedure and patient outcomes. But, now that i think about it, the state medical societies should know what each doctor is cleared to perform. Try calling them and see what you find out.
Are several women who are/were in this discussion pleased with their procedure and it’s outcome?

My wife found treatment with clobetasol was very effective.

Clobetasol is the treatment I use regularly. See a gynecologist, as it requires a specific regimen. Hope you feel better soon.
