Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?
Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

@sexy17 I'm doing the same Ohtuvayre and generic Duoneb both twice a day. I'm on O2 24/7 also. It works great for me; makes bad sob a thing of the past.
@kdny

I just received mine to start. Problem one, have several of the side effect already. My question is, did you have phlegm before you started it? Because I never cough or have phlegm. My problem is I have too much co2 and it’s getting trapped. I was on oxygen 24/7 for 4 years and complaining my breathing was getting worse. Questioned why I seemed to do better without while sitting. No test was done to confirm my questions until I had to get an updated walk. Just came right in and said, I no longer needed oxygen! Scared to death but my family dr sent me for another test walking and they said I did while walking. 2 yrs now and still no further walks or breathing test. My breathing has been much better, now that I only use it while being active, but don’t need it sitting. So a little scared to try something that hasn’t been out that long or could make me worse. I read if breathing gets worse, stop or go to ER.

So scared to try it now. I have too much trapped c02. Doing much better after stopping oxygen 24/7 for over 4 years. Afraid it made me worse. But do need it when doing anything reaching or simple activities being up moving around. Glad your ok.
@nanat24 It sounds like you do not see a pulmonologist, but rely on family doc. You really must see a pulmonologist to clear up everything you are dealing with. And yes I did have phlegm before I started Ohtuvayre and now less often and much less coughing to get it up. Take care and see a pulmo.

1 ReactionNo, Dupixent is used for about 7-9 different co-morbidities!
Yes I have been taking Ohtuvayre for almost 6 months. It really dries up all the mucus and my mouth.
Yes my breathing is better and I can go longer distances before running out of breath. I live at an be altitude of 5000ft in Utah. Breathing is a challenge here.
@ktf why holding off? what are downfalls of it.
@nanat24 How do you know about co2?
