Did you go to a PT that does CST or a specific therapist trained in Cranial Sacral Therapy, there is a difference, it is not PT. The difference is similar to a primary care doctor and a neurosurgeon.
I do not mean to be snarky, but there is a huge difference!
I actually have seen the neurosurgeon for this and will need surgery, trying to put it off.

No, I don't. However, I have back pain, and it sometimes goes into my buttocks and thighs area. I have started going to a Chiropractor and it is helping a lot. Have you ever seen a Chiropractor? It might be helpful to go to one. The one I am seeing has deep compression and red-light therapy, roller tables and the TENS unit. They gave me exercises to do as well at home. All Chiropractors are different, as they use different techniques for adjustments and have different equipment in their office. There are even specialists in the Chiropractic field too. Have you tried acupuncture or acupressure massage? Those might be worth exploring for your pain. Have you been to an Orthopedic Dr. about it? There is nerve blocks, not sure if that would work for your pain or not. I have knee pain and they are going to do a nerve block on my knee, which will deaden the nerves and tell my brain, there's no pain there. Hoping it will work, will never know till I get it done. There's also alternative type Dr's too. Hope you find something that will help your pain.

1 ReactionYup. I did a little stretching last night then went grocery shopping today. Got a SHARP pain in my hip a little while ago. Think I over did it. Ibuprofen and a heating pad for me tonite.
There are videos available online of the stretches you can do. Just be careful that it IS sciatica. I messed up my lumbar for several days a few years back because I couldn’t tell the pain was coming from my lower back and pelvis and not from my sciatica.
Alternating ice and heat are really good.

1 Reaction4 years ago I had Caudal Steroid Epidural injection, it worked great for me - lasted almost a year. More importantly it gave me a sense of security so I could rake the yard or put on underwear without fear of ending up in the ER. I now get them every year.

1 Reaction@animallover25 That sounds like sciatica.
I have had most of these things at times, now I also have severe cramp of the calf which lasts for days and also affects the soles of my feet.
Lots of walking, as many exercises as possible and a daily diet including Ibuprofen.

1 ReactionOn May 14th I woke up and had severe back pain, it was bothering me for 3 days prior, which I figured would go away like it always did. Not this day, I couldn't walk on my right leg at all, in extreme pain. Went to the ER after 8 hours there, they admitted me. MRI showed

The hospital kept me on steroids and pain medications, not once did Ortho come to see me. I went home with in home nurse, pt and ot care.i had a cortisone injection on June 1st. I did get some relief, however, from my knee to my 2nd toe I'm experiencing the numbness and burning, especially on the outer portion of my leg. I can walk but not very far, before that pain fires up in the outer hip. Every morning when I wake I'm discouraged by the pain still there. It's been 1 month of this pain. While I'm taking the small accomplishments as a good sign, I'm still very discouraged by this struggle. I'm seeing the spine Dr. On Monday, he is going to do a nerve test. Has anyone had to have 2 injections, if the first one didn't do the job? My spine Dr. Said the nerve pain is the last to heal and it takes time. But what about the pain after walking? I'm hoping someone here has something to offer, because I'm feeling like I'm going to be stuck living my life like this. I am going to see a surgeon out in Boston, but no appt. Yet. I'm doing PT exercises every day to build strength, muscle atrophy in my legs from this , also an issue , so I'm doing my exercises to gain back strength in both legs.
Sorry for the long post. I'm feeling lost in this situation I am in.

2 Reactions@I too have bee battleing this exact issue to the point where after 45 yrs I had to go on disability. My pain started as yours from hrs of sitting in my truck to the point where I can walk across my living room but thats it.I had done injections but did nt really help.Heres the best part of the sciatica is that it has aggrivated my nerves to the point i now live with dabilitating poly neuropathy.Tried all of big pharmas soothing fixes, but no more releif than than a really bad sleep. This has now become a very big issue that if you sit in a hard chair for an evening meal, you will get the worst zing in your butt cheeks and to stand would be impossiblebar0961

Ah, well I have had a hypermobile coccyx since 2016. From sitting at a desk for 35 yrs plus. The sciatica, I'm convinced is from me accommodating the tailbone. I never sit normal, I've been leaning on one side or the other, leaning forward, anything to be off the tailbone. I'm certain my issue is from that., I too, am waiting on a hearing for disability. I've been denied 2 times. I believe now with this issue, the judge will not deny me, but who knows. Thank you for smearing your journey.

1 ReactionPlease stay on disability as they do deny people on a frequent basis. The very most important thing is to keep your dr reporting on the issue as he/ she is the key to be accepted. It is a struggle but in the end you will be paid back to the time when you applied as I waited 16 months to be accepted but within 1 week I was pd in full.Good luck@kbar0961
