Brinsupri plus immune modulator / biologic?

Hello all! After failed NTM treatment and then RSV + Pneumonia + other infections while on Humira for crohns ... The Humira is on pause. Also there's a suggestion that asthma may be more of an issue for me than bronchiectasis and NTM which are mild .... So with all my doctors we are evaluating how to go forward. Bronchiectasis doc would like me on brinsupri but not with Humira, which has systemic immune-suppressing effects. The asthma doctor would like me on one of the new asthma biologics which maybe?? could be taken with brinsupri but not with Humira. My crohns doctor would like me to restart treatment but with one of the newer IL-23 suppressing biologics which target inflammation in the GI & don't have as much of a systemic immune-suppressing effect as Humira does.

So my question is, does anyone have experience being treated with brinsupri plus a biologic? What were the indications and how are you being monitored ... since there's very little experience or data as of yet. But many of us with bronchiectasis also have autoimmune conditions so this must be a question coming up out there!

(An aside: I cannot take arikayce as it seems I had an inflammatory respiratory response to either that or the placebo when in an arikayce study & since then have had bouts of high eosinophils (in blood work) which altogether is suggesting eosinophilic asthma.)

Thanks to everyone here for all the generous sharing of information and experience... this is an invaluable group!

I have rheumatoid arthritis and take Actemra (it is a biologic) to control it. I am also on Brinsupri (for 6 months) and have no problems. The Brinsupri has improved my lung condition and the Actemra is controlling the RA with no interaction problems.

Hi,
I’m just starting with Birnsupri, 1 week now. I’ve been in nucala for 2 years which has help a lot with sinuses. I was also worried about doing both the medication’s. The only thing my doctor said was to not do a nucala injection until I’ve been on the new medication ( Birnsupri) for 1 week. So we’ll see what happens. I can update you after I been doing them together:)

Thank you! I would love to hear how it goes with brinsupri on top of nucala!
I'll be sorting this out with the docs over coming weeks so where I land with which meds will be a little while yet.
