What are your experiences with Leqvio?

My cardiologist is considering adding Leqvio to rosuvastatin to further reduce my cholesterol. I am looking for other people’s experiences with Leqvio.

I'm so sorry for all of you who are not adapting to Leqvio. My cardio also encouraged me to go on Leqvio and then quit Crestor after the end of the 1st shot, 3 months. I decided to stay with Crestor, though with the highest dosage of 40mgs. Why? reading stories like all of yours on this site, and, because with only 2 months of crestor, my cholesterol dropped from 203 to 130, and most importantly, my ldl dropped from 115 to 43. My research told me that those who have difficulty reducing ldl should try Leqvio. Subsequently, I conferred with my GP, and he agreed that I made the right choice to stay with Crestor. Main reason being is that once the injectable is in you, it is in you for 6 months and you live with whatever side effects it causes. With the pill, you can adjust. Now, I'll see what my numbers are in June, and if they are equal to or less than my prior tests, I'll request 20mgs instead of 40mgs of crestor.

@71young - Hello, It's great that you are having good results with Crestor (generic = rosuvastatin). Please be aware Crestor has its own set of potential side effects, some of which may not manifest until 12-24 months after starting the medication. Although rare, those side effects can have a life-altering impact. I had an adverse reaction to rosuvastatin. I'll not detail my experience here; my remarks can be found elsewhere on this website. But the side effects I experienced are permanent, irreversible, and have impacted my daily life. Having said that, I wish you the best.
