Anyone taking Mirtazapine? Is it working for you? Any side effects?

Has anyone been taking Mirtazapine? Like to know if they have taken themselves off and how did you do it?

@joetex thank you! I jumped from 15 to 45 too quickly in my opinion. I will speak with her about reducing to 30 and hopefully the anxiety will not worsen. If it does I can always scale down and try something else. Thanks for your reply!

@cmarts Good day. I take 45 mg of Mirtazapine at night and usually have a headache the next day around 0500 pm or so which I take 2 extra strength Tylenol to combat this with. It’s not a severe headache, about a five or 6 on the pain meter but it will linger if I do not take the the Tylenol 500 mg X 2. Occasionally I have to take 4 over the course of the day if the headaches start earlier in the day. Just wondering if anyone else has these adverse affects on the drug. Should I decrease the dosage to 30? I’m a little reluctant to do so as I am still having anxiety with 45 and don’t know if lowering the dosage might help or make matters worse.

@dave14 That seems like a lot. I take 15mg for sleep and have no side effects. I find it helps me to get a good nights rest.

Doc prescribed 3.25mg, yes, 1/2 of a 7.5mg teeny tablet.
It makes me so groggy in the morning I’m quitting it.
I take diltiazem 120 extra for heart and so there really is no good sleep aid I can take. (Cardiologist recommended 5mg of trazodone?)
I suffer from “epic dreaming”?? So I never feel rested.
I’m doing my own research, can’t live like this.

Je prends 15 mg de mirtazapine aux deux jours. L'effet le plus désagréable pour moi est la constipation que cause le médoc. Toutefois, il participe à un bon sommeil.

@bern7475 oh gosh! I’m so glad to hear it’s not just me but sorry for you.
What are we doing in Dreamtime??
Trying to fix the world?
Let me know if you find some relief.
I’m a 76yo female and have read that 100mg of progesterone might help. Gotta convince my GP to go for it.

I have begun to use Magnesium cream/lotion on the soles of my feet at bedtime. It seems to help and I feel relaxed for most of the night. I slept 7 hours last night and was able to go back to sleep!🙌 I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work.
