Libtayo (cemiplimab) treatment for SCC...any comments?

@louisejewell Let me see if I'm understanding you correctly: the Signatera value (which is a lab test some providers use in conjunction with other tests as an early marker of metastasis) had risen just before imaging showed possible mets in your chest? But before switching to cetuximab - a stronger chemotherapeutic agent - everything returned to normal range and you've not had any further squamous cell lesions; is that correct?

That's great that you can proceed with increased dosage and less commuting. Keep us posted on how the surveillance goes from here out!

@grammato3 Yes. The signatera jumped from 10 to 30. At that time I had a PET that showed something in my lung. I continued my Libtayo and 2 months later Signatera dropped to 1.7 and new PET showed nothing. My next Libtayo is May 12 and they will do a Signatera test then. I'm just hoping to stay on the 6 week schedule.

@louisejewell I have similar things going on. Reoccurring SCC to head and neck. A year ago had an aggressive Squamous Cell cancer removed from the top of my head. Deep and large. Needed plastic surgery to close the wound. 4 weeks radiation. On my 7 th Libtayo infusion. Not many side affects. Had a skin rash breakout all over mostly back. Been treated with steroid cream. Bearable but itchy at times. I’m 77 and feel like you do. Afraid of another big MOS surgery. I get monitored and infused every 3 weeks and MRIs every 6 months. Fatigue but bearable. Hang in there. Don’t sweat the infusion it is monitored.

About two months ago I had 3 lymph nodes excised from my armpit due to SCC. The oncologists recommended starting Libtayo infusions without radiation (to begin with). I will have my third round of Libtayo next week and am on a three week schedule. No major side effects so far, except for very itchy skin and increased fatigue. My dermatologist thinks the skin issue may be unrelated to the cancer or treatment so I'm waiting on a biopsy of a "itchy lesion" to see if it's some other treatable skin reaction. In the meantime using prescription anti-itch ointment. How common is this skin reaction to Libtayo?

@runningy I'm up to 2 yrs on Libtayo and didn't start with the itchy trunk area till this year. I haven't used anything just scratch when it flares, usually at night.
worth it for the cure...
I handle the fatigue with coffee and a good nights sleep.
AND now after 2 yrs I'm on a 6 week treatment plan, double dose each treatment. Just had my first one and it was fine.
