Then he very well may have what is called Pickwickian Syndrome. Being that much over weight, sitting down the diaphragm is pushed upward towards the lungs which decreases the amount of Oxygen one receives causing loss of oxygen ( hypoxia) to the brain and one becomes sleepy. Try reading up on it & see if that may be the cause then certainly speak with his physician as this is just a thought based on symptoms.
I sent him everybody's response I told him he needed to go see his doctor I've been telling him this forever. He's done asleep study and they just keep putting them back on the CPAP machine. I need to find a fairly simple ingredients for decent diet to get him to drop some weight
@marjou I honestly don't know I know he's done two different sleep studies and they keep doing the same thing putting them on the CPAP
@SusanEllen66 the only meds that I'm aware that he takes is for his diabetes that's it.
@SusanEllen66 well the fact that we're both type 2 diabetes doesn't help him I'm not tired from it I have no problems but he does
@daisy17 he's done asleep study twice and all they tell them is here here's a CPAP machine use it

Does he have a regular sleep dr he can talk to and say that he’s still having symptoms? The machine may not be set to the right pressures or some other parameter. Or, are you sure he’s actually using it?
I too use a CPAP and I’ve learned that what looks correct in the sleep lab doesn’t always work out in the real world. He may in fact have a machine that’s wrong for him. I titrated to a bipap twice in sleep studies, but in the real world it was a disaster. My ahi went way up, etc. I went back to my CPAP set in apap mode and things got better again even though it wasn’t technically ideal.
Finally, I know this is frowned on, but I only started making progress when I learned how to get into my clinical settings and (carefully)experiment with pressures.
Just my thoughts on the subject-good luck
@kudzu I will have him read your response. But you know men, they think they know it all.
Thank you ..
@nanamillie
Yes I do. All you can do is try. It’s his decision.

Well, I don’t know that they’re all that way; let’s hope he’s one that listens.
