What sleep meds help you stay asleep?

I’m on a combo of Ambien and Seroquill. I knock out for exactly two hours and then. I’m just awake.

@363 LDN is low dose naltrexone. Naltrexone was originally developed to treat opioid addiction at high doses, but studies showed that at low doses it helped relieve pain from fibromyalgia, Lymes disease, and other conditions including poor sleep. I started taking it in early 2025 for my fibromyalgia, but found that my insomnia also improved and now I sleep well every night. There's many articles on-line if you google "LDN to improve sleep".

Here are a couple websites:
https://neurolaunch.com/naltrexone-and-sleep/
https://www.innerblisscare.ca/blog/low-dose-naltrexone-ldn-improve-sleep-quality
You have to get it from a compounding pharmacy because it's not produced by drug companies at the lower doses. Also it's not covered by insurance. The maintenance dose is usually 4.5mg/day. You have to start at a low dose and build up to 4.5mg/day. Then it can take several weeks to notice improvement. Most people have no negative side effects (I haven't noticed any except vivid dreams).

My cost for LDN is $115 for 90 day supply. I got my prescription from a Dr at a pain clinic, but my PCP also prescribes it. I live in MN and my compounding pharmacy can help locate a provider in our state. Otherwise, maybe your local pharmacy can help locate a compounding pharmacy in your area.

I looked on Minny Grown website and I see they have different versions of Hibernate. Can you tell me which one you tried? Also, can you tell me how old you are- or at least if you are a senior like me. I am going to see if my PCP knows about LDN and look at that route but in the meantime I thought I might try Minnie Grown. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

@1oldsoul I use the Hibernate Blueberry gummies with 10mg CBN and 5mg THC. Sometimes 1/2 of a gummy is enough. They are expensive from the Minny Grown website, $30 for 10 gummies. I was ordering them from a store in MN for $20 and they would mail them to me for $6 usually no matter how many packages I ordered. I will check with that store and see if that's still the case and then update this comment.

Minny Grown has sales every so often, sometimes 'buy one get one free' and that's when I would stock up. If you join their website as a member and provide your e-mail address, you will be notified when they have a sale.

I am 76. I also take 2mg melatonin at night. I hope your Dr will prescribe LDN, it's becoming more and more well known with doctors.

I take a mixture of Magnesium compounds about 2 hours before bedtime. Then I take a prescription drug called trazadone.
This has been really helpful to help me sleep for 6-7 hrs.

@luveachday curious what your mixture of magnesium compounds consist of?

I use Magnesium Complex, which is a combination of:
Magnesium oxide: leg cramps
Magnesium citrate: constipation
Magnesium glycinate : sleep aid
I find that taking this one capsule , two hours before bedtime and then Trazadone helps me to sleep.
I used to take them together, however magnesium blocks absorption of other meds.
By taking them , like I do, I am not waking up , every two hours.
It has greatly improved my sleep pattern.
I hope it helps you!
