I’d like to call my husband: Phone for person in memory care?

I wonder if anyone knows of a phone for a person in a memory care facility?

Is there a way to make an iPhone simpler to use? I’m going to the Apple Store to find out.
My husband has been in Memory Care since Monday. Doing well depending on staff but for the most part acclimating well.

@maryvc I feel my husband is approaching this point…I have to help him with his iPhone and iPad, especially with all the junk that is coming in.

Years ago, he was the one helping everyone in his office fix their computers. 😢 Our Apple Store is a distance away, but that is an excellent idea!

I’m betting Apple Watches are quite expensive.

@susanpremo I checked and you can buy a new Apple watch SE3 with cellular function (no phone needed nearby) for $299. You can find older models on Amazon for less than $200 that might serve your purpose. Caveat: some "cellular" models require a nearby Apple phone to recieive calls, but some do not, so if interested, know what you're getting. One downside is that the battery life is only about 18 hours, so needs recharging daily.

@2me it’s sad, isn’t it? My husband had some hobbies that he was very good at, now he can’t remember them.

@2me I went to the Apple Store. You can simplify the phone by going to
* Settings > Accessibility > Assistive Access > Manage Apps
Set up the Assistive Access and you can choose which apps you want when in assistive access mode.
Then it creates large buttons for only those apps.
It was a little complicated but any place that sells phones would probably be able to help.
Good you can do this:)

I purchased a cell-jack for my Mom. It plugs the cell into a regular phone. I bought a regular phone with huge buttons you can put a small photo in - just push button with person's face. You will program the button for the number. It was very simple. You can search for Dementia phone, large button simple phone, etc. This way, there is no need to even touch the cell phone. It worked great for my Mom while she could still comprehend it.

They are but they have a notification for falls and emergency calls. You do not have to pay extra to make or receive calls on your watch but need your phone with in a reasonable distance. I can be out in yard and can receive calls and make them. My husband makes calls all the time on his and we do not pay extra.
