Tonmya is a game changer for me!

Posted by Beejenigma @beejenigma, Dec 26, 2025

Just got an RX for the new drug, Tonmya. It is amazing. My sleep has completely changed now. Used to have chronic insomnia. I would take arthritis strength tylenol, 300 mg gaba, 8 mg LDN, 10 mg THC and sometimes even .5 alpraz to go to sleep and I would still not get to sleep for 3 hours. I would frequently wake up around 3! Now I am sleeping within an hour and sleeping until 7 or 8 a.m.! See if you can get an RX for it. I don't know if this is going to last but it is great.

@drbf thanks. Unfortunately Medicare won’t allow me to use coupons.

Dang. I didn't know that. I'm on Medicare and was interested. I will suggest it for Cost Plus Pharmacy. They have ivabradine very reasonably priced and it's fairly new.

1. My Drs understood I needed pain relief. They could see it in front of them. When I had what I call my "lava" and in horrific pain. And my BP through the roof. They wanted more then once to admit me. At first my Endocrinologist thought I had NETS. Nope. My Rheumatologist found out I have severe RA and Fibro. Neuro said I don't have dementia and do have Fibro fog. My Cardio/CT surgeon absolutely said I need narcotics! So I have a pain Dr. and is fabulous.
2. Yes TID. It does what its supposed to do and it doesn't make me sleep.
3. No. Can't take that with narcotics.
I'm still coming to terms that this shit is never going away. I had planned to work till 68 but had to retire at 66.

(In my case I was in healthcare for over 35 years. ECMO Specialist Perfusion/Registered Respiratory Therapist. Speciality NICU/PICU Level IV, CCU, ICU, ER.
I know a LOT of Drs, PA, NNP, RNs etc.
And I've had Asthma my whole life.
Because of my background I know who is the best and I got them. Is that fair? Of course not.
That's why if you knew me I would find the best Drs. for you.)

I just got TONMYA yesterday but havent taken it yet. At first my insurance wasnt going to cover it & it costs $1,000 for 30. Then they accepted but copay still $600. Then suddently it came down to $60, so I picked it up. I want to talk to my BCBS pharmacist before taking it as I see a lot of precautions (the local pharmacist was not familiar with it, though he knew about cyclobenzaprine oral).

I thought it was also suppose to help with fatigue but I don't read that anywhere. Bummer.

@4corazon have you made a decision on whether to try the TONMYA yet? If so, has it helped any?

I did decide & pcp ordered it, then my cardiologist said not to take it due to my CHF I guess. So, unfortunately, I wont get to try it.

@bunstuffer Same with me. Since 1972. But... as I said, this Tonmya is a different form of cyclobenzaprine. It is NORcyclobenzaprine and it does not go through your digestive system. Game changer.

@beejenigma Tonmya actually decreases the level of norcyclobenzaprine which decreases the side effects.
I have had amazing results with Tonmya. I have not gone up to two a day yet. My pain is better than it has been in years. My trigger points continue to loosen up. No other medication has consistently done that. I agree that this is a game changer.

@jjmarshall sounds amazing! So glad for you. im sorry i can’t remember (brain fog), didn’t someone in the group say that Tonmya is actually Cymbalta and something else? I went off Cymbalta a year ago with bad withdrawal and long term after effects. It worked great at first then after over 13 years of taking it I was still having pain and made me very fatigued. wouldn’t want to ever go back on Cymbalta. Just dealing with the pain etc. with other alternatives. I still have pain, etc. either way. I was also worried about weight gain that was causing other health problems. But don’t know if Cymbalta caused the weight gain.

@jeannesf1 It is cyclobenzaprine but in a steadier form with no drowsiness.

@jeannesf1 In the first comment on this discussion on 12/27/25, I offered information on the fact that Tomya "is a reformulation of the muscle relaxant cyclobenzaprine (aka Flexeril) done by making it a lower dose that's taken subliminally rather than as a pill you swallow. "
