Tonmya is a game changer for me!

Posted by Beejenigma @beejenigma, Dec 26, 2025

Just got an RX for the new drug, Tonmya. It is amazing. My sleep has completely changed now. Used to have chronic insomnia. I would take arthritis strength tylenol, 300 mg gaba, 8 mg LDN, 10 mg THC and sometimes even .5 alpraz to go to sleep and I would still not get to sleep for 3 hours. I would frequently wake up around 3! Now I am sleeping within an hour and sleeping until 7 or 8 a.m.! See if you can get an RX for it. I don't know if this is going to last but it is great.

Has it helped with the pains too? I’m waiting for my cousin to bring it to me in EU, as it’s not yet here. So the sublingual form is different to the tablet form? I thought it’s the same drug, just that it’s been reformulated. And the LDN, did that help with the pains? I wish to take as few meds as possible.

@sheevym Please do a google search for Tonmya and read how different it is. It enters the body in a completely different way and in a different form. The LDN is supposed to reduce inflammation in the body. I take it but my pain is still pretty bad all the time because I have a severe case. I take it anyway. Good luck. I hope you get to try Tonmya!

Norcyclobenzaprine (nCBP) is the primary active metabolite of the muscle relaxant drug cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), formed when the body processes cyclobenzaprine.
Traditional Cyclobenzaprine (Oral): Swallowed, goes to the stomach, then the liver, where a large portion is converted to norcyclobenzaprine, leading to accumulation and drowsiness.
Tonmya (Sublingual): Dissolves under the tongue, goes directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the liver, and results in less of the metabolite that causes daytime sedation.

I was just diagnosed with Fibromyalgia(age 69) 3 months ago. A lot of bloodwork, CT scans, MRIs etc. And have seen many Drs in 2025.
The pain is excruciating.
I take Vicodin 10mg Q8, Flexeril 5 mg Q8. Aspirin 325 mg Q8 or PRN. The Flexeril doesn’t make me tired and it works in concert with the Vicodin to give me some relief.
Sleep? Ha. Glad gummies help. Sigh.
And because the pain is so bad my BP is dangerously high(which is being treated also).

I have excellent Drs. because I was in healthcare for 35 years and know the good ones. Lol.
All of this sucks. Pain and brain fog.

@ecmoandrrt Thank you for the information. I have some questions:
1). Did you have trouble getting the Vicodin prescription? Most doctors are reluctant to prescribe it.
2). Do you take the cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) throughout the day?
3). Have you tried low-dose naltrexone? I believe it's helped me, if not I'm in some kind of remission after dealing with painful flares since 2021, after a bout of Covid triggered my fibromyalgia.
I'm sleeping okay now, but at night I still take magnesium glycinate 300mg, melatonin 2mg and sometimes 5mg cyclobenzaprine. I was taking a sleep gummy but don't need it now.
Good luck to you.

1. My Drs understood I needed pain relief. They could see it in front of them. When I had what I call my "lava" and in horrific pain. And my BP through the roof. They wanted more then once to admit me. At first my Endocrinologist thought I had NETS. Nope. My Rheumatologist found out I have severe RA and Fibro. Neuro said I don't have dementia and do have Fibro fog. My Cardio/CT surgeon absolutely said I need narcotics! So I have a pain Dr. and is fabulous.
2. Yes TID. It does what its supposed to do and it doesn't make me sleep.
3. No. Can't take that with narcotics.
I'm still coming to terms that this shit is never going away. I had planned to work till 68 but had to retire at 66.

(In my case I was in healthcare for over 35 years. ECMO Specialist Perfusion/Registered Respiratory Therapist. Speciality NICU/PICU Level IV, CCU, ICU, ER.
I know a LOT of Drs, PA, NNP, RNs etc.
And I've had Asthma my whole life.
Because of my background I know who is the best and I got them. Is that fair? Of course not.
That's why if you knew me I would find the best Drs. for you.)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with Tonmya. I'm curious about how things are going for you so far. Has it become more effective, less, or the same? Any side effects?

I’ve had an intense history of chronic pain, bulging discs, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia. Yea all of this affects sleep, nutrition depression symptoms. So I take tizanidine for muscle spams pain, it’s supposedly the best for all types of musculoskeletal pain and spasms. I also take the duo Cymbalta and Lyrica as well as Percocet 5/325 q4-6 hours. I feel like Tonmya may not be prescribed with all of the above meds. I suffered severe depression n anxiety so I also take psych meds especially for sleep. So bring my high tolerance for meds once you get a formula that works , I dare not change anything.. i absolutely enjoy everyone’s input and experiences. I’m so very new here, so thank you. Also I too have nursing history of 24 years. So if you find something that works run with it. Take good care

@daisy17 My doctor prescribed Tonmya but the cost will be over $400/month. I'm on Medicare and a Regence (a supplemental insurance) and I was approved. Once I saw the cost I declined the prescription. I then asked for cyclobenzaprine but the doctor (not my regular doc) refused to prescribe it bc I'm 70 yo. I'm so disappointed! I was hoping to be able to fall asleep easily and have less fibro pain.

@drbf thanks. Unfortunately Medicare won’t allow me to use coupons.
