Reclast infusion side effects?
I had the Reclast infusion 5 months ago in my left arm. I have started having pain in that arm now, with loss of strength. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thank you so much for the links. The more info the better. I am leaning
toward not taking the Fosamax...it is one scary medication.
Wishing you all the best in this journey. It is nice to know we are not
traveling alone.

2 ReactionsAs I have been posting on other pages…Reclast is very hard on kidneys…if you gave concerns—lab results out of range for kidneys—Reclast is not the med for you…good idea to research this issue, among others, while deciding what meds to take..

1 Reaction@pattwc My endocrinologist is a highly respected doctor and does not agree with me about my decision to refuse Fosamax. He even offered to lower the dose by 1/2 which he said would still be effective, but I still resisted. He believes it does help prevent fractures, making it worth any possible side effects which he said are rare. However, he does respect my decision not to take it although I think it's frustrating for him.

2 ReactionsI refused FOSAMAX also along with a 2 x a year injection another Dr. recommended. I’m afraid of all the medication that has been presented.
I’m doing vitamin d ,k weights and an herb called horsetail What are your plans for your bone health
Thank you for sharing
To be honest, you simply can’t rely on any doctor’s recommendation alone. I read that a doctor spends an average of twelve minutes with a patient in a given appointment. I’ve never spent more than seven personally. It is impossible to be a thorough clinician regarding complex conditions in such a short period of time. The long term side effects of these pharmaceuticals are extensive. You have to research other patients experiences and literature and make the best decision you can for yourself. The trials are often run or funded by the pharmaceutical companies themselves and physicians are grossly underreporting adverse effects due to routinely dismissing patient complaints as “not caused by the medication.” None of this serves public health.

4 ReactionsHI, @rose140.
I'm using Forteo. I'll be starting my 4th year in April.
I'm afraid of the two drugs you were offered and applaud your refusal, even while admitting that if there were no other drugs available I'd still be more afraid of fracturing.
I've always been physically active and have a lingering sense of invulnerability from my long past youth.
I've intensified the weight exercise, use the original Juvent vibration plate, added a rather ridiculous set of jumping exercises.
I keep my D levels at 70. Use k2-7, 2 hours before intake of calcium and/or Forteo injection.
I struggle the most with protein intake, but try to make at least 70grams.
My calcium intake is probably low; 500mg is the most I'm willing to supplement in broken doses.
You might look at strontium. I've never taken it but Kathleen1314 has done extensive research and has kindly made it available on this forum.
Meanwhile I'm going to look at horsetail. I remember a fingernail polish, but maybe that was real horsetail.
Thanks for your post. It is a nice opportunity to see what I'm missing. I'll be scouring your responses.
Meanwhile, best wishes to your bones.
Thank you for your detailed regimen.
I feel either way if I take a medication recommendation the risks are similar as if you don’t take it. Meaning risk of a fracture , cancer or other side effects.
As for the strontium supplement, many different types.
Is the citrate the best for bone density or ranelate, lactate, carbonate or chloride.
Have you seen a natural path? Wondering if this is something to look into.
Also I do not take a calcium supplement. Never felt good taking calcium also nothing changes when I did take it
Thank you for your advice and opinion
@aberg Not sure what doctors one might be seeing. I just had a consultation with the chief of endocrinology at HSS (Hospital for Special Surgery) NYC. He spent and hour with me after having gone over my bone density and blood work. It was a very detailed consultation and I decided on Evenity for two months before a reverse shoulder replacement. Yes, there are problems in the system with amount of time spent because of how little medicare pays doctors. We need to be active in our behalf. Ex, I saw two physiatrists before I settle on the one I continue to see because he is smart, skilled, kind and I never feel rushed. I understand that it is frustrating but we need to be with doctors who are the best.

You’re lucky!
Please send his/hers info?
I am in NY and my endocrinologist is not a bad Dr. but she swears my Reclast infusion was a good thing, even now with my terrible side effects. I’m about to see her in 2 weeks, I’ll try to argue once again in my behalf that this was a bad decision. But we only have so much time together!
@tiza
Sorry, you said it was a He.
Thank you!
