Swimming in chlorinated swimming pools

Are you an avid swimmer, Jennifer? Are you wondering if you have to give up swimming?

I have just started swimming in a community pool which is chlorinated.  Don't

Swim under water.  I thought I remember reading something about chlorine??

And whether this is something ok to do???? So much info that I'm wondering

additional info about it. One just took me to this thread, the other took me to
the Mayo home page. Can you tell us in a nutshell what you read about it? Thank

I just read on a post about swimming, not in pools or in lakes. I've gone thru videos etc...
And cnt seem to find this info anywhere. I swim in chlorinated indoor pools, but keep head upright. Have
A cottage and swim in a very clean lake in Muskoka and swim underwater. I need someone to respond to
As I feel very unnerved by this. Also, are we to poor spring water into coffee pot to me coffee

@megan123, .. Jennifer, if I was sitting in your shoes .. each of us has a different set of medical issues .. so I would make "swimming in chlorinated water in a pool" a question for you own Infectious Disease doctor. They know YOUR own particular set of issues. Me personally .. community pools with children I would avoid like a plague .. your private pool that you could control .. ask your doctor .. Tks Katherine. reviewed videos, but didn't see info on this. I will ask my new Dr inSept. I guess for now I will swim in chlorine and lake water. Don't swim with children in pool. Adult swim.

@megan123, .. Jennifer, truthfully I would NOT wait for Sept! Just a quick call/message to the doctor's office would suffice .. just ask .. I'm sure they would not mind .. June to September is a long time! Write out your question in advance .. ask it and have peace of mind! Do your "due diligence"! Hugs! Katherine

The last pulmonary Dr I had was poorly informed and overall a lousy Dr. I'm hoping this new Dr will be better. I guess this is an area that hasn't been clearly stipulated in this forum. In Toronto, there
Isn't the expertise u have at Mayo or National....so u can't just ask an infectious disease Dr. The pulmonary Drs tend to cover both MAC and Bronchiectasis. For now I won't go underwater.

Again, tk u Katherine fit your help. U have been thru so much, yet u find the time to still help.... I was a SocialWorker, recently retired ....now I need the help, as do u❤️
