Have you been told no to hrt if you are 10+ years post menopause?
Starting hrt 10 years post menopause and the flawed Women's health initiative study.
I have been told no and yet the current findings seem to indicate that hrt can still help.

My primary reason for seeking bhrt was not bone health although I know the hormones will have a positive effect on my bones. I have been on bone meds for quite some time and am free from noticeable side effects.
Yes, I was told the same by regular allopathy Ginecologyst. I don’t believe it. You have receptors all over. Check out Felice Gersh. She is a Ginecologyst in California.

1 ReactionMy Gyn says i could get a stroke if I start with bio identical hormones late after menopause. I have high blood pressure. The alternative preventive doctor I see wants me on them at age 75. I decided to take DHEA instead. Too risky.

@sjs1 Where do you get your DHEA? Is it a prescription or supplement?
Yes I was told that by my Gyno. I asked my new PCP for it and she wrote me a prescription.
@mcallister1002
I was concerned about dosage and made a special appt with my GYN to see but she said from what she knew there was no way to overdose -- but I was not convinced. She said "Knock yourself out". Seemed sarcastic. So I use life extension's 25 mg 1 cap a day over the counter.

May I ask how old you are, how long you have been taking DHEA and if you have had any side effects or positive effects? Have you ever had your DHEA tested?

Gemini or AI Assist says for my eye and bone conditions estradiol is not a cure all and because I have HBP - it's high even taking 3 meds for that the risks of stroke are real. I have a alternative TX tele med MD that insists I take pellet estradiol not the patch but my GYN and GP and AI assist say no - I an a stroke risk. Also very expensive. I only take standard 25 mg DHEA and no specific testing or side effects except I had DHEA tested years ago it was low normal and very low on female hormones. Age 76 . I distrust mega doses of any supplement without testing and MD monitoring. The alternative Texas MD had me on a mega dose of DHEA but he uses mega doses for everything. I stopped taking the high doses of supplements he prescribes. My osteoporosis is less of a worry presently than my macular degeneration.
