Has anyone had muscle pain in the back and legs while on Eliquis? If so could you describe the pain and location?

was taking 5 twice a day cut my self back to 2.5 of the eliquis and my pain in my back, legs, knees and muscle spasms in my bladder are killing me. On 5 my ankles and and legs looked like tree stumps and my feet killed me not as bad on 2.5 just one ankle swells big now. I am so depressed it kills me to watch my grandkids now. when I forget to take a pill like at night our in the morning by late afternoon my ankles are better. I cannot take statins because of the same problems. and yes my cardo does not believe me or maybe not care. getting ready to switch.

@tpmcg It’s now been 10 months since I took Eliquis for 1 week and I’m still dealing with the stomach issues. No doctor offered me any real help, just PPI’s
My diet was a lot like yours until recently. I slowly added, plain cooked salmon and sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, broccoli, avocado on toast, baked potatoes, and for a dessert, I make red jello blended with plain Lactaid yogurt with graham crackers on top. I can also eat walnuts, almonds, and cashews, 1/4 of the tube of powdered lemon lime electrolytes drinks mix. No using straws, no caffeine, no chocolate, no real sweets. It sucks.
Acupuncture helped a lot along with a nightly acupressure and relaxation routine I created. I do it every night. Finally I’m venturing into other foods but Pepcid and GasX are still my best friends

@moski
I am careful about FODMAP. Look it up. I cannot eat avocado, almonds, careful with the amount of broccoli. And absolutely avoid the red in red jello. You might want to do a little low-FODMAP diet research. Just a suggestion.

@debmonroe yes Eliquis is a muscle weakness in the legs. I read up about it.

@carly14 COULD YOU GIVE THE INFORMATION WHERE
YOU READ THAT ELIQUIS CREATES MUSCLE WEAKNESS IN THE LEGS?

THANK YOU

GOOD
I'M GLAD YOU'RE SWITCHING. I DON'T THINK PHYSICIANS HAVE TIME TO DO ENOUGH RESEARCH FOR CORECT ANSWERS TO THESE DRUGS.

@debmonroe you can ask him, but my doctor didn’t know about it. I read it on the journal of American medical Association and that’s how I know.

@metgmz thanks for the suggestions but low fodmap was not good for me at all! That was my first diet change. It made things worse!
I’ve worked out a super healthy diet that causes me few if any problems, I’ve lost weight I have energy and no Afib.
I’ve had a dietitian watching over this for months with full approval.

Joint pain and swelling is a side effect of Eliquis.

Jump to this post

@lindy9 and it continues, at least for me, months after stopping. I'm seeing a Physical Therapist and on my own taking Lysine to perhaps aid in building muscle. I'm certainly better than I was 8 months ago. Joint pain from sitting no longer than dinner, upon moving around it eases. I move around throughout the day, but not walking, alone or very far because my balance isn't dependable. Little by little and persistence my new doctor considers me inactive because I am no longer walking my five or so miles and day and was. baffled when I talked about side effects of Eliquis because "but you're not on it anymore".

I had leg pains from Atorvastatin. I started taking COQ10 and the pains are gone. Don’t know if this is helpful for Eliquis.
