Has anyone had muscle pain in the back and legs while on Eliquis? If so could you describe the pain and location?

I saw a new cardiologist today from a different healthcare system. I only take eliquis after one incident 16 months ago. He asked why I want off of Eliquis..I said muscle pain and stiffness, joint pain and I may not even need it. He said nope, cannot be from the eliquis. I figured that would happen so blew it off. He also told me that I have A Flutter, not Afib so that's new. I told him I felt it distinctly but he said data shows many who think they feel every incident proves them wrong. I will accept that. Referred for a 14 day Holter monitor and to a virtual visit with an EP before he will support dropping it, but will now be the EPs decision so follow up in 4 months with a nurse practitioner. Guess I won't be seeing him again? Weird.

@rushhome I should correct that he told me I have a flutter, that is something I picked up in the after visit summary. We did not discuss that change. I will ask the EP when we meet.

@moski I had the same experience. One dose and I could not sleep, had to pee every hour, and had legs too weak to walk (even at home), GI problems galore, dizzy, life ending thoughts, and it took weeks to get a bit back to normal.
After 1 day of taking Eliquis.
I stopped my doses after 24 hours, after taking 5mg Eliquis two times that first 24 hours.
5 weeks later and the pain in my joints and musles is so bad that I can not live like this.
Thankfully, my specialist suggested upping my doses of transdermal bio-identical oestrogen to 4 'pumps' (instead of the 3 pumps) to combat the joint/muscle pain.
And that indeed helps.
I am waiting for the full effect of Eliquis to leave my body.
I really do hope it does not take me months to lose all the effects of Eliquis!

@ladyrotterdam I wish you the best. For you it’s the joint pain that’s hanging on. For me it was the GI stuff. It finally faded out but it took months. I’m still so hyper aware about what I’m eating. I have a nightly relaxation routine that really works and so far no Afib for a year next month 🤞🏼. All the bad effects have faded I think. I hope the same comes soon for you.

Oh yes terrible pain right now in my right knee and below it, like terrible inflammation, and my knee now wants to go out of socket feeling and clicking.. almost can’t walk on it.. been almost 2 months.. also lower back pain.. Doctors say it’s not from Eliquis.. I don’t believe that… I’ve never had problems in my life like this until I started taking blood thinner.. also seen a lot of people say they take Eliquis for years and hasn’t bothered them one bit, but I know we’re not all the same, Doctors should look at it like one size does not fit all… but so far they don’t.. idk 🤷‍♀️ it makes it so hard cause I need to be on them unless I get a watchman.. don’t know allot about doing that.. getting on sites like this to hear from real people and their experiences!!! Hugs to everyone!!!

There was a post months ago re a person whose doctor decided to put her on Warfarin. First thing I tell a new doctor is no Eliquis. Even with a regime,I'd go on Warfarin. I was on Eliquis because I had a saddle pulmonary embolism a year and two months ago and have been off Eliquis for maybe six months or so. The odd thing is it seems symptoms change. Even though I am better in many ways, my walk is still "off." I'd never had very nice people ask "can I help. you" when I think I'm walking better. But, for me, I survived something many people don't and I laugh at what I might have been fussed about previously. Hugs and caring for each of you.
