Meningioma: Anyone else? I'm frightened

I just found out I have a Meningioma tumor from a MRI I had for something else. Doctor said they are almost always benign and am going to get an appointment with a neurologist. Anyone else have one of these. I’m getting very frightened now.

@randallshields56 hi Randy. Oh I didn’t know you had cancer and glad you’re doing good too. I have to have another MRI in six months that’s all I know .

@jackie2k in about 4 weeks they do another brain mri, see the issue I have right now and go from there. Thank you for your post 📫 🙏 I'm still cancer free, just hope the tumors not back or something like that. Ok chat tomorrow, have councilor at 9am eastern time 🙄

@randallshields56 Hi Randy, I’m so happy that the radiation worked for the cancer that’s is so amazing to hear. I’m ok just still a little burning in that area but getting along good. I was freaked out when I first was told about having radiation but I was really surprised how it wasn’t that bad. Do you feel anything in your head like side affects.

@jackie2k Actually the only thing i had was waking up with a headache but a couple like naproxen and i was good to go. the incisions for the brain surgery where they went in twice were raw longer than i cared for but hey I'm still here and happy to be alive. my caregiver is starting to take me places so i can socialize some and its made a big impact. Am hoping to start meeting people again. haven't been in that active event in like 6 years. now its time to stop and smell the roses and start doing things i should have done a long time ago. just couldn't afford to stop working at that time . i was wrong. my late wife would be chewing me out right now if she were here. funny what life hands you.

@jackie2k Thank you, Jackie... I suspected as much. Did you have a headache afterward? The Radiologist said it would take almost an hour.

@mkoch I told the Neurosurgeon that I would almost rather have it just gone (!) and he thought for a minute, but then said this was the best way. I trust he is right. I have monitored multiple small tumors for a number of years, but this one suddenly grew.

as to side effects I'm still working on that part. my meds cut off a lot of my short term memory. but hey still here and god must need me around to help someone. have a great day.

@janeelaine yeah i had a headache too. it passed with meds and rest. the incisions took the longest time to heal. but they had to go back into my brain to repair a bleeder a couple weeks later. that bit.

@randallshields56 Hi Randy! I have short term memory lost also. Not sure what’s causing it other than age . Hope you’re doing ok.
