I have been on brinsupri for 3 months now and have gained 10 lbs. I'm having less and shorter flares but am coughing up jade green sputum after my evening airway clearance. Just had a broncoscopy and awaiting culture results.

1 ReactionI have been on Brinsupri for almost 5 months now. My liver levels have gone up substantially. Has anyone had this issue? It is reported as a potential side effect.
@luxembourg I’m so sorry for your experience . I am starting month
# 6 , 10mg tomorrow , and I’m not having side effects. Only insomnia if I take it at night . I’ve seen a significant improvement in my symptoms . Most importantly , the only lung flare I’ve had was easier to treat . Also, my monthly blood work has all been good. I would definitely recommend it.

2 Reactions@sueinmn interesting to hear that your pulmonologist also said that the 10 mg dose showed almost as much benefits. That is what my Stanford md said as well. It makes me feel not as bad that my body does not seem to tolerate the 25 mg. Thank you so much for posting that, it makes me not as disappointed that I can’t take the higher dose.

1 Reaction@patti55 my pulmonologist said the same, with regard to dosage, results , and side effects . About to start 6 months , 10mg.
If I remember correctly from the clinical trials, the biggest difference between 25mg and 10mg, was lung function improvement in the former (larger) dose.
@luxembourg. I was on 25mg dose when I got rosacea on cheeks and eczema around mouth and blister on arm after one month on Binsupri and stopped taking it. Slowly going away but very slowly. Did not affect MAC one way or other.
@whitemarsh
As mentioned previously, I have been on 25 MG since September. Absolutely no side effects and a remarkable improvement,ent in my energy, appetite, weight gain, etc etc. I can't say enough positive things . I have gone from 25-30 exacerbations per day to virtually zero. I am a new man (at 87). Talked to my Mayo Doc the other day and I am now going to be reducing my airway clearance therapy to once a day from twice. I guess I am one of the lucky ones.
