There are so many opinions out there on the web about which is the best supplement to help prevent BPH/prostate cancer. What are the key ingredients to look for? Thank you

I’ve given up on supplements as I didn’t think they were helping. I used individual ones such as saw palmetto, stinging nettle root, and Pygeum bark extract. Also the usual zinc that I still take.

Having had the PAE in 2/22 with excellent results I’m happy where I am now. My IPSS score is 1 because I get up after 6 hours of sleep.

Rfherald, I wish you the best on the HOLEP. That was my other option.

I have been using, as a urologist recommended, flax seed meal on my breakfast for 30 years. I also use a bit of cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar daily. Check out all of them. No urination problems or prostate cancer. We get enlarged prostates and we are all different, but this has worked very well for me. I'll be 82 in May.

I have been taking various supplements for 30 plus years and have had good results as far as good relative prostate health at age 81. I have run these by my urologist, who has a little bit of alternative leaning and he is on board with everything that I have taken. I would highly suggest taking Life Extension Ultra Prostate, which I have taken for several years, and have recommended to numerous of my friends who began taking it regularly themselves and experienced positive results. I might add that my father died of prostate cancer and I am predisposed so have done a lot of research over the years.

@faststore1 I too have found that taking a standard 200 mg tablet of ibuprofen (Advil) before bed will help me sleep through most of the night before haveing to get up to pee. Anyone else notice this too? If I do this more than 4 or 5 nights in a row it does not work as well so I only use it intermittantly or occasionaly when I need to sleep well.

@victor79 yes I would like to know if you struggle with BPH like I do and what you are using.

Is anyone using 'Alfuzosin'? My urologist has me taking this and said I would see results in 30 days. My Mayo doctor said that supplements like saw palmetto and Beta Prostate were useless. They didn't seem t help either. He said stay with drugs recommended by your doctor.

Unfotunately nothing is documented to prevent prostate cancer.
