Good MAC Doctor Recommendations
I have been searching for either an infectious disease doctor or a pulmonary doctor in the St .Louis Missouri area to treat MAC. It's exhausting work. I currently have pulmonary doctor with a prescription pad and an infectious disease student.
Please help if you know of a good one.

Have diagnosis of MAC and bronchiectasis. Need local doctor in Tampa area to help getting through episodes. Any recommendations??
Hi @jengelage you may have noticed I moved your post to this existing thread on finding doctors in your location.
I wanted to highlight some information that @colleenyoung shared from other users @boomerexpert and @128128terry11t offered http://mayocl.in/2og8RBc
Boomer says:
“Use this link: https://www.ntminfo.org/patients/physician-referral-list”
Terry suggests:
“If you called Mayo or National Jewish, might they be willing to give you a name if there is no liability issue? When I went to National Jewish, they gave me names of experienced clinicians in my area.”
I also wanted to highlight what @windwalker said that you are your best advocate! Find the doctor who best fits your needs.
Hopefully this is helpful. Let us know who you find!
I’m looking for recommendations for doctors who are experienced in treating MAC in the southern Indiana area. I am willing to travel within the region. I am also looking to connect with others diagnosed with MAC who reside in southern Indiana.
Hi @deborahwolf, I don't know any doctors in Indiana; however, when I searched for MAC in Indiana a lot of medical research/essays coming from Indiana University (in Indianapolis, which I don't believe is in the Southern region) came up.
If you haven't already considered it, I might try reaching out to the Indiana University School of Medicine or the Indiana Bloomington University Hospital (closer to your region)? They might be able to recommend someone or point you in the right direction.
Thank you. IU is several hours north of where we live. I prefer to go south if I need to leave the area. But I will keep this in mind if I don’t get connected somewhere.
Are there any doctor recommendations for Bronchiectasis/MAC in the Tampa, FL area? Thanks.
Thanks for info.
@jengelage Hello. I have a notebook at home with drs names in Tampa. I am out of town at the moment until next week. Try http://www.ntminfo.org to see a list of bonafide mac specialists. They are listed by state, then by area. Please get back to me if you still need help finding a dr.
@deborahwolf Hi. Go to http://www.ntminfo.org. they have a mac specialist registry by state. Good luck!
@america, Hi I live in the Tampa area! I have tried some doctors in the area but I recommend going to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. The doctors are very helpful! I was there in September and I have an appointment in March. They do all the testing and try to work with you in the best way possible. I highly recommend it. Good luck.
