Has anyone used Trelegy?

Posted by guinivere @guinivere, Oct 24, 2024

I have been on Advair HFA for a long time, over 10 years. My COPD per tests today is stable, but I have wondered if I should switch to something different. I did not know the doctor I saw today but I had had a PFT test, shared my thoughts about being so long on Advair & she right off the bat suggested Trelogy. A once a day discus inhaler, bye bye to Advair & Incruse! Now that I have switched, I am anxious, primarily because I didn't get to discuss this with her. OR my doctor! I am going to try to contact him tomorrow but meanwhile would like to hear from anyone re Trelogy &/or Advair.

I’m newly diagnosed and get very anxious when my O2 gets low. Occasionally, wake up at night with chest pain(emphysema) and use pursed lips technique to clear, then it’s hard to get back to sleep.

@johnnydale52 — I wear a cannula at night . At first I would wake up with it off. But now I have adjusted to using it . Now sometimes I wake up and I am snoring or breathing thru my mouth . Mouth is dry as an old bone. It is always a challenge . I am on 4 liters 24/7. I feel surprisingly good most of the time . I am using Trelegy Elipta 200 . A puff a day. That is all I take . Best wishes to you.

I would like to inquire about Trelegy Ellipta 100mcg vs the 200mcg dosage. I am stage 3 severe COPD with FEV1 of 33%. I have been using the 100mcg dosage for several years. Has anyone with emphysema moved from the 100 mcg dosage to the 200 mcg &, if so, was there any improvement noticed?

Well I'm taking it but have no idea if it is working. I'm only on 100 mcg. I can't see any difference. These doctors tell you everything is fine then you look in the portal and see numbers high or low and other things that aren't right and you wonder why you even go to the doctor. I'm sick of trying to figure out on the side what I'm supposed to be doing.

I was on the trelegy 100 for quite awhile and it worked great for me....til it didn't..... Now, I can't find anything that works, so they put me on Trelegy 200 (the highest dose they make !!) but they said it has not been approved for copd, well, I tried several other meds and nothing has worked, so I went back on the Trelegy 200 and you know I feel a "(bit)" better, I can at least make it to the kitchen now without nearly collapsing, my Dr. has not given me much guidance to help so I guess I'm on my own...it's frustrating, your Dr. is supposed to know what to do next 😤 I pray for the best for you 🙏

I used Trelegy for ~3 yrs. Following instructions to RINSE after use I found after 6 months and a dentist visit I had SEVEN CAVITIES costing $1800 for fix. ZERO cavities for 5 years prior to starting Trelegy. Dentist recommended BRUSHING rather than just rinsing & thereafter seemed to correct that problem. COVID shot #5 in Oct 2022 appeared to correct my breathing problems and during 1st 3 months of 2023 I was able to wean myself off of Trelegy. No problems for 2 years but appears I now may need to return to use because of asthma caused by allergies but USA price is ABSOLUTELY OUT OF REACH at $700+ per month living on social security with no generic until at least 2030!

I’ve been on Trelegy 10 for about a year now. I’m on private insurance so with the coupon on the Trelegy website, I pay $75 for a 90 day supply. I used to get dry mouth and eyes (yes and cavities) from Spiriva but not from Trelegy.
I find it much easier taking Trelegy than 3 separate inhalers. So far so good. I rarely ever need to use a rescue inhaler and when I do, it’s Xopenex, Levalbuterol.
I believe the 100/200 for Trelegy refers to the amount of steroid in the combo. Folks either asthma may need more steroid to keep lungs under control.

@hazely I am on Trelegy 200 as well and some days I feel like I cannot catch my breath at all. I did speak to my doctor about it and he told me to keep trying with it. 🤦‍♀️Not much help and it scares me. Having this disease scares me and I know I will get worse as I get older. I am 74 now. Thanks for listening!

@foxhuff2 I know, it scares me too, I hate that feeling of not being able to catch your breath and feeling like you are going to die right at that moment. I'm 76 (August) and yes it will just get worse, I'm to the point where I can't do much of anything, I have a rough time just trying to make my bed, with all the modern medicine they keep researching, WHY can't they find a fix for this ?? It is so frustrating 😒 Take care and I am always here to talk, it helps to know that there are other people in the same situation, I will pray for both of us, 🙏 & everyone that has this miserable disease 🙏
