Any tips for staying on track during holidays?
I was thinking of the upcoming holidays and all the challenges it brings when trying to lose weight or just maintain.
If preparing for bariatric surgery, have had surgery, or on weight loss drug, eating healthy during holidays has additional challenges. Maybe you're on a liquid diet, have food intolerance, or just trying to be very conscious of what you're eating, the best advice is to plan ahead.
Here is one article by Mayo Clinic Health System with suggestions:

I would add one more tip to the Mayo list - Intermittent Fasting. You can still eat at the events/gatherings but just make it a longer period of time between the planned eating and the last time you ate 🙃. 2 Reactions@johnbishop , I like the idea of intermittent fasting. I intend to do more before too long. I’ve done it more by happenstance lately, but feel the benefits.
I also have started another practice to free up some calories and carbs. I switched my dinner meal to a lean protein over a bed of mixed vegetables or garden salad. I found I don’t miss rice or potatoes after all. It’s quite substantial and filling. That frees me up to have my other treats if I want them. It helps keep my total calories for the day down,
Another idea was that I don’t keep treats in the house. If I want, I can order them when I am dining out with others or attending holiday events. I’ve decided I’m not going to prepare any treats this year, except on Thanksgiving day and Christmas day.
