Posted by jessie1990 @jessie1990, Oct 30 1:48pm

Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@jessie1990 Man. No wonder you are anxious. So your doctor is basically on holiday. Geez.
I know there is only so much they can determine with scans etc. until they get in to see it all. That's why my doctor did not know mine had shrunk. I was also a bit upset that I had spoken to the surgeon regarding what type of metal the staples would be beforehand. I figured that bridge had been crossed. He was vague then, and non-committal afterwards.
He THOUGHT they were titanium. I've been wondering if that has been the cause of my pain and inflammation. You would think that would be charted.
I had the same problem when I had to have screws put in my shoulder. Which still hurts years later.

@jessie1990 Have you tried listening to a meditation app. at night? I use a religious one, and it has helped me get to sleep along with the clamazapam. If not that, maybe calming music?

@jessie1990 Totally agree. One problem just creates another. She had an addictive personality to begin with. I learned later she had started smoking weed at a very early age.

@jessie1990 They did not tell me that fact, but I realized it when I was first able to get up and walk the hall. It was cardiac and pulmonary unit combined. Makes sense. Try not to worry until something actually happens. Hard to put into practice. I know. And your case looks to be pretty involved. 🫶

@jessie1990 Do you have socialized medicine in Ireland? Is that part of the problem?
