Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@nannybb I didn't actually look at the scans. I read the report and discussed it with my oncologist. He wanted me to see a pulmonologist, so I scheduled the appointment. I know nothing about Mast Cell Mold. He also wanted me to see a hepatologist for some liver cirrhosis. I have that appointment next month. I try not to over think things anymore. If what the oncologist, his team, and I discuss makes sense, I just do it. I trust them, and they trust me. The team of specialists just keeps getting bigger.

@tomrennie I was denied going to the NETs specialist here in Potland for a second opinion. I even had a referral from my GP. He wants me to go to a pulmonary specialist first. I just wanted to know if as a specialist in carcinoid tumors he could review what the surgeon did and maybe give some other advice on why I still have such pain 6 months out. Very disappointed 😞

@nannybb I understand your disappointment. Your request seems reasonable to me. That is the first time I have heard of someone being denied at least a medical review by a NETs specialist. I am really sorry to hear that. Have you been to a pulmonary specialist yet?

Oh Jessie, button down the hatches. I'm going to try and walk most of the weekend and stay far away from stores and their "Black Friday sales.

@tomrennie Yes. My GP referred me to one when the tumor began growing. I looked up all the doctors in that clinic and chose one. I not only did not get my choice, but I got the one I did NOT want to see. Portland healthcare is all messed up. Big problem now, is the continued pain, and the lack of cooperation with the surgeon's office to send in forms for my continuing to get any money. (based on return to work date) I have not received pay due me for about 2-3 months. I have to get back to work. It's just me myself and I. Plus, I have 3 more tumors they supposedly found post-surgery. Just disappointed and frustrated.

We are also getting ready to enjoy several days of rain!! I just parked my recliner in front of the patio window so I can enjoy it. We don’t get a lot of rain in Southern California so the 3” were expecting is huge. Since California is a desert climate it doesn’t absorb water well so that will cause flooding in some areas, but I’m in a good location to enjoy the rain. Always hoping for a rainbow as an added bonus. I’ll be taking my car out for a spin later to enjoy God’s free car wash today. My little squirrel and bird friends are here hoping for a treat before the rain starts. I’m surrounded by pine trees just full of squirrels. Several species of birds. Very peaceful. Enjoy your storm that will keep Ireland so green and pretty. 😊
