Drink water, and I also take stool softener pills. If that doesn’t work I use suppositories. (Torpedo’s) a little humor never hurts.

I take Trulance every AM and a VSL3 probiotic..actually ..God turned on my bowels Oct 15th last year.. 2024.. I remember it so well..I had an appointment with a surgeon for surgery on a tortious colon.. didn't need it!! He sia ..what ever you are doing is working biofeed back whatever..I said .. the word works!! My personalized license plate is PHIL4:13 ..and when we came out of the dr office to get in the car, the was a note under the wiper (we discovered while driving in busy traffic in a large town . we are small town gravel road folks..so I told him .. we better get that off there!! And it was a not.. which read.."we read your license plate and are standing with you in faith that you are healed .. Christian sisters!!" ..It was a "God wink"..now I use Nahum 1:9 which in effect says God will not allow the same affliction to come upon you again!! KJV What do you imagine against the Lord"he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time...that's good news!! Glory to God!!

I have had the worst constipation problem almost nothing worked. What did work was Philip milk of magnesia liquid. Also I have grown kale in my garden and my daughter‘s been after me to eat more greens because she swears that would help me with constipation. So I had Two servings of kale and I had the best bowel movement I’ve ever had. Secondly, I always rely on soft prunes as they also provide me with relief. What’s good as of course these are all organic ways to deal with the problem. I have suffered with diverticulitis and constipations for years and I’m 81 years old. Try it. I hope it works for you.

@dbrunold and don't forget to walk outside for a while. In the sunshine if possible.

For some people drinking a lot of water can actually cause constipation. I can't drink much water or I get constipated. My fluids need to have sodium and glucose (sugar) in them so my body can absorb fluids. Apple juice helps me and hot tea also helps. I drink powerade instead of water.

Yes! That is about the only thing that works. I have to make it super concentrated, but it's my go-to

I take 650 mg of magnesium, 350mg in the morning and 300mg after dinner. When I travel and I need more help, I take SMOOTH MOVE pills. I eat a lot of fiber, take one pill of Glucamannan 2400 mg. Bananas and rice are bad for constipation, so I avoid them. That keeps me regula, but some times, if for some reason I get constipated, I do an enema, with just 1 cup of filter warm water and it works

YES!
Smooth move and licorice tea do the trick as all pills failed repeatedly. For me 3 SM 2 L in 10oz water which I steep for an hr and home for the day.
Good Luck!

Olive oil. I drink a teaspoon a day. Sometimes a lil more if I haven't gone in a day. I have adhesions which have put me on a low fiber diet and taking olive oil daily has kept me from having to take miralax every day.

I have been suffering from severe constipation for a long time. I took antibiotics for hpylori after an endoscopy revealed infection. After that things went downhill fast. I also have celiac disease. I have extreme bloating and almost no motility. My gastro did not test for particular gas but said that I have sibo. Prescribed Metronidazole for 2 wks. I am much worse. Bloating, constipation much worse even after taking Lubipristone, On low fodmap diet, I’ve lost 10lbs in 3 months. I’ve added oregano oil berberine florastor Iterfase (to break down cell walls ). From reading, I believe I have methane sibo with archaea bacteria. Just from my symptoms of extreme bloating and no gut motility. I am in Atl and it is so difficult to get in to see a Dr. I don’t believe my gastro specializes in sibo. At wits end
