Good morning everyone! Today on our blog, we're introducing you to Yasmin, a Mayo Clinic patient who received a heart transplant in July 2016. We hope you enjoy her story! Ps - Yasmin has been featured in some marketing for Mayo Clinic - do you recognize her? 🙂 Have a great day.

Good morning everyone,
Today's blog post talks about the MELD score. If you are a liver patient, you are likely intimately familiar with the MELD score and how it affects your placement on the waiting list. Did you closely follow your score before transplant? Was your score high when you received your liver?

Have a wonderful week,

Good morning! Today on the blog we're sharing the story of a patient who is unfortunately waiting for a second kidney transplant, as his body rejects the organ it received four years ago. Feel free to leave Remy some encouragement here and we'll send it his way. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/newsfeed-post/meet-remy-in-need-of-a-second-transplant-remy-marceau-fights-on/

@kequick for Remy: I am so sorry to hear of you organ failure. That is a fear I believe we all share. I pray your wait is short and you quickly find a good and long-lasting kidney for you. Blessings to you and your friends and family as you wait.
Thanks, @2011panc - we're passing this on 🙂

Today we have a special treat for you - a guest has written a blog post for us! As most of you know, Rosemary is one of our Mayo Clinic Connect Mentors and has been a special part of our discussion group for a long time. Rosemary was kind enough to share some of her tips on how to stay positive during those difficult pre-transplant times. We hope you enjoy hearing her story. We are so thankful for her willingness to write for you all!

Hope everyone is having a good week! Don't miss our new blog post on an innovative approach to liver transplant in highly selected cases where weight loss is not working for a patient with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. Be sure to watch the short video with our patient Scott sharing his story. His goals are truly inspiring.

Today on the blog, read about Tom's courageous journey to transplantation - which included a trip halfway around the world! (Can you imagine!?)

We'll be taking a brief pause from the transplant blog over the holiday, returning back next month. We wish you all a very happy and very healthy holiday season, and hope you can enjoy time with loved ones. Who knows, maybe you'll have an opportunity to talk with those around you about the life-saving power or organ donation. Registering would be a good New Year's resolution for someone who isn't, don't you think? 🙂
Happy 2018 everyone,
I hope everyone has had a great start to the year. We are working hard on blogs again and have some great ideas planned for you for the new year. Today our blog is another Meet the Expert. We have so many amazing staff members at Mayo Clinic, it's hard to pick just one to highlight. Today we are learning more about Beverly Hanson, a social worker on our campus in Arizona. Have you met Bev? What do you think about the social worker role related to transplant? Have these staff been helpful to you?
I hope everyone has a nice week. It's finally warming up here a bit in Minnesota - we might reach 30 degrees this week!
