I have had my fundoplocation and hirenia surgery 3 month ago. Till date i cant purb and have stomach pain as well as feel short breath and cant swallow. In addition to that I have mouth heat (my tongues and lips are on fire). Am considering a removal of the fundoplocation but was wondering what would be the impact after the surgery as I cant handle the current symptoms anymore. Anyone have any thoughts!

I'm looking into doing a reversal. It's the worst surgery I've ever gotten done. I have terrible problems swallowing pills always getting stuck. I burp all the time. Too much gas. I can't vomit and when I feel like I have to it hurts so bad. I have an appointment with the surgeon that did it on January 22nd ill let you know. Oh as soon as I eat it comes right back out

Any updates with the surgeon?

I come to know that surgeon and gastrologists can widen the tight wrap caused by fundoplocation surgery. But would that solve the swollow and other issues caused by the surgery or taking the stretches out (full removal of the wrap) would be the ultimate solution?

I had a Nissen fundoplication 360 done 15 years and I had terrible complications. I couldn’t swallow any kind of liquid & horrible esophageal spasms. After a year I was able to swallow a little bit of anything that was the consistency of a milkshake. Anything too warm or cold would cause a spasm. The worst was that food and liquid would often get “stuck” in my esophagus where the wrap was & it was incredibly painful. After several failed ballon dilations I ended up have a revision performed - Nissen fundoplication 260. I still have food/liquid get stuck and have spasms on a daily basis.

I forgot to add that I still have reflux and am on prescription medication for it but still often have reflux slide up and through the wrap into my mouth.

I had a revision performed (a 360 to a 270) and it somewhat helped with the tightness where the wrap was and that I could swallow a bit more than little bird bites or sips of liquid. When I had the first Nissen surgery I was desperate for anything to help with my GERD. I had tried every prescription medication, diet changes, etc but none of that helped. I wish I had the 270 done initially and not the full 360 wrap. I’m so sorry you’re going through this!
