Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?

Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

So sorry to hear that. I’m waiting for approval or something. I was really counting on this new treatment to help my shortness of breath. I’m really disappointed and discouraged.

Dont give up hope. It does not promise immediate results. It took me 3 weeks to find a difference.

I’m still waiting for ohtuvare. Really Discouraged by negative comments. Isn’t there anyone that it helped??
I was on daleresp a few years ago. Had to discontinue after a few months due to severe side effects.

It has helped me so far. The positive effects began after 3 weeks (it does not promise immediate effect). I am so far very pleased and corssing fingers it continues. Have used for 5 months twice daily.

I too am concerned with the information that I have read on the lack of response for those that have COPD. Such big Hype, over nothing. FDA should be ashamed of themselves. No there is no one to trust.

I do have positive effects but it certainly was not overnight (it does not promise that). It took me 3 weeks to see a real difference and after 5 months use I am very happy.

I'm a little concerned re the hype and such that surrrounded Ohtuvayre as I have not heard many positive remarks and outstanding results that have occurred. The literature doe not address at what point one could experience in breathing easier, when one should expect improvement etc. Did the FDA truly scrutinize this medication before approval I think it was alot of hype.....especially after Dupixent was approved as well with those with copd, however only if they too had type II inflammation.

I too have not trid Dupixent. I have used Ohtuvayre since 8/12/24 with happy good results which only began after 3 weeks. I am in month #5 and truly it is helping others as so far so good for me. Fingers crossed this continues (no SOB and more stamina).

I don't think it is theophilline unless theophilline is the same as Ensifentrine which is what Ohtuvayre is as far as I know. It is a nebulizer and I have been using it since August 2024 with good results.

All I can tell you is that a senior lung doctor who has been doing medical research for decades told me it’s essentially nebulized theophylline.

I think not, but perhaps I am wrong. I tried Theophylline many years ago and was required to take many blood tests during the course.

I remember you made this same comment several months ago. It seems that this "new" medication has not set the world on fire nor done much to help with COPD. This is basseed on the comments that I have been reading.

It can be a tremendous help to the right patients. Because it’s nebulized, you don’t need the blood tests you had to have when taking oral theopholine. One can only know whether it may help them by discussing with their MD and trying it.
