Living with LPSVS (long post-COVID vaccination syndrome)

Posted by sandtoes @sandtoes, Jan 11, 2024

Has anyone experienced long-covid symptoms from the vaccines. I have been searching for 10 months now for the cause of my severe fatigue. I have been sent to an ENT, a cardiologist, a hematologist and undergone so many tests/scans. My doc told me a few days ago that he is stumped. No idea. Come back in a month. I pace myself to get through a day. Is this LPCVS? Is there something to do besides pace oneself? Should I ever get another covid vaccine?

Thank you for your response and sharing information. I've been doing some searching on Dr. Patterson's program but am finding it difficult to find specifics about the program. If you feel comfortable doing so, would you mind sharing what his program entails? Again, thank you for your response. Best wishes!

What blood labs are involved snd what are you looking for?

Dr Patterson's labs are proprietary. If you watch some of his YouTube interviews you will pick up some hints and clues on how he views blood testing in general and the things that he looks for. Hope that helps you and best wishes.

I experience headaches (on top of chronic daily migraine which I've had for over 20 years), fatigue, brain fog/mild cognitive impairment, muscle and joint pain, persistent cough. I'm only 49 and was relatively healthy prior to LC/PCVS except for back issues and migraines, but the last nearly 4.5 years have been progressively terrible. I am now on short term disability from work--a job I love--which is leading to depression and thoughts of worthlessness. I started seeing a psychiatrist and therapist to help cope with this as my life seems as if it is being redefined by this syndrome. The antidepressant has helped my mood but the cognitive impairment is the worst thing, it gets progressively worse the more fatigued I am.

@sandtoes My journey started locally and one of my Doctors called it "the journey of what its not", with every test in the book thrown at me. Timeline for all that was January '22 to August '23. In August I went to Mayo Rochester, spending 3 days there. Lots of testing and medical professional interactions. Back at home I had several virtual coaching sessions pulling together my personal plan and then across 3 months virtual follow ups with Nurses and PT. Short story my plan included prescriptions, supplements, exercise, meditation, the causes and counter measures for Exercise Intolerance and Post Exertion Malaise and understanding CSS (Central Sensitization Syndrome) which is how LC affects the body. Everything is directed at curing CSS. My 3 months ended in December, but I still stay in touch with Mayo medical professionals as needed.

Thank you! Now we're getting warm... you wrote: "Short story my plan included prescriptions, supplements, exercise, meditation, the causes and counter measures for Exercise Intolerance and Post Exertion Malaise and understanding CSS (Central Sensitization Syndrome) which is how LC affects the body. Could you please tell us exactly which prescriptions, supplements, exercise regemin, for openers? Many of us can manage prayer or meditation, mindfulness, and the like, and have access to calesthentics if nothing else, but lack anything substantive to present to a physician who knows only what the mainstream medical pipeline feeds him/her regarding long COVID - and as many of us who post here attest, that's somewhere between ineffectual and counterproductive.

A course of Cymbalta and a course of Naltrexone. My supplements are Vitamin C, B12, CoQ10, and Nattokinase. I practice moderation which means I can't go past about 10 minutes in the gym which is not a good thing. Pre LC I was exercising 6 times per week at 45 minutes cardio elliptical and resistance. If I were to do that now I would PEM crash and spend weeks recovering. I am thankful for the efforts of Mayo, but nothing I have done so far has helped other than my own personal 'line' of physical and mental effort not to step over (part of Mayo's theory). While Mayo has a working theory that I followed it didn't provide a full solution for me. I have moved on to Dr Bruce Patterson. I wish you the best in your journey.

Thank you! We stumble around, manage a step forward on our own, and then lend a hand to another negotiating the same step. Zinc, selenium, and magnesium supplemets have been helpful for me, along with melatonin every night to re-regulate disrupted sleep pattern due to covid. The tryptophan, serotonin, melatyonin mechanism apparently gets disrupted with covid and doesn't return on its own. Some research indicates that with regular melaonin administration that mechanism can temd to self-repair. Right now, with melatonin every night because my system doesn't produce and deliver it as it should, my sleep is much improved.

A word on zinc. Don't overdo it - too much leads to MORE fatigue as too much zinc disrupts copper metabolism. Have backed off of 200 mg of zinc with good results; now at 30 to 60 mg per day from all sources and that seems to be working well. Absorbability is a also factor and sorting all this stuff out... sheesh.

I'll try upping my CoQ10, taking it and C more regularly; already on a good B vitamin regemin, and will also explore nattokinase, etc.

Will also check out Dr. Patterson. And again, thank you so much! What you just offered might be life-changing for me and others! God bless you!

I will never get another vaccine. After Covid vaccine I trust nothing if it's put out by the government.
