Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain?
Has anyone ever been on Duloxetine (Cymbalta) for nerve pain? I've had 2 doctors push this on me. I know that the side effects can be terrible and getting off of it difficult as it requires titration. One time I remember taking one pill, and not liking the way it made me feel, so not taking any more, and still feeling the "weirdness" from it 2-3 days later. and that was only 30 mg Please pass along any experience or advice from this medication?

I have been on 60mg for four years for Fibromyalgia. I too, was hesitant about it, but any side effects diminish within a few weeks. Really, I didn’t experience nausea just maybe a little brain fog which totally disappeared.
The Fibromyalgia I experience is “burning “ pain across my back. I treat it with Cymbalta and Gabapentin. I have not experienced one totally pain-free day in four years (sorry for that news) however it doesn’t prevent me from most activity. I also engage in PT often. I hope you give it a try, and I also hope you find that it takes the edge off your pain.

1 ReactionHi! I’ve been on Duloxatine since 2016. It helped immediately with pain. Also with depression and anxiety. I take 90 mg during winter and 60 spring summer. I am having some fatigue now. Not sure 🤔 f due to the 90 mg. It has helped me. Goodluck
Just wondering if it is hard to transfer from 90 to 60? Do you take additional medications?
Thanks!
I've taken it for a long time. Not sure if it does much but no side effects.
I took it for awhile, but had the experience that you described.
Hello I have severe Adhesive Arachnoiditis & have severe constipation issues. My Dr prescribed Cymbalta 30mg. I couldn't go to the bathroom & doubled over with gas pains. Retired RN, so i know opioids cause constipation. It also gave me a weird, metallic taste & an even drier mouth than usual. I am also sensitive to a lot of medications. My pain is so bad, i can't get out of bed. keep going to ER for Dilaudid My pain management NP, not much help. Doctor prescribed 30 mg, but said he wanted me to go to therapeutic dose, which is 60 mg Not taking Cymbalta, as i just can't tolerate any more symptoms. He probably won't be too happy with me
@irene5 I looked up interactions between Cymbalta and Tramadol on Drugs.com and there are people with certain conditions who cannot take the two drugs together and your doctor will know if you fall within that group. However, I take the two drugs with no side effects.

1 ReactionBut you don’t take them at the same time correct ?
Why would anyone start on Cymbalta if Eli Lilly discontinues it? Start with another version of duloxetine that will still be available in the future.
